Dark Parables 6 is a perfectly enjoyable fragmented object game on its own. It just cannot reach the same heights as the previous two games in the series.

We can look at Jack and the Sky Kingdom in two ways.
One is as the sixth entry of the Dark Parables series. In this case, we will see many reused puzzle types and adventure-lite elements, plus some decent fragmented scenes that feel weaker than in the previous game. Oh, and better music!

We can also view it as someone's first Dark Parables. In this case, expect many enjoyable fragmented scenes, some unique puzzle ideas, and lots of backtracking for hard-to-spot items.

Whether you will like Jack and the Sky Kingdom comes down to its story. Or, in other words: do you think you can enjoy a FROG with a very anime plot?
We have everything. There is a race of sky people who believe they can end evil by destroying the human race. They even get a mandatory overdramatic leader and his obviously scheming advisor! Oh, and we should never forget about the pretty boy adventurer opposing them, including his dark, brooding secret. Essentially, we are just one step away from an Otome visual novel.
If you do not mind these, then you will love Dark Parables 6. Otherwise… well, there are fifteen other games in the series.

I bought this Game during the Summer Sale as I had been waiting for Ages for this and the other Dark Parables to go on Sale and I must say I dont regret it.

First of all If you havent played any Dark Parables Games I recommend you to go back and play the first one as those games are meant to be played in Order.

Dark Parables: Jack and the Sky Kingdom Collector's Edition comes with the Main Story, a Bonus Story and some other Bonus Content such as a little Artbook, Bonus Puzzle Levels, the Soundtrack & Wallpapers.

The Voice Acting was once again very nicely made and the Art Style was absolutely beautiful!
Just like the 5th game in the series you can also hear change the games resolution to widescreen or Classic. I personally chose classic as widescreen simply made it all stretched and horrible to look at.

Sadly the Steam Overlay is once again in my opinion unusable as on the bottom right corner the Steam Notifications where just completely bugged and ghosted. Also once you enter the Steam Overlay via Shift & Tab you will be left with a horrible gray filter ingame, which is only reversable via restarting.

Once again you were able to collect different pieces throughout the Game which will, once everything is collected, unlock a Background Story that will be read to you or if you prefer to read it yourself you will be able to turn the Sound off and do as you please.

The Hidden Object Scenes were rather well hidden and the Puzzles were challenging. I personally did like them alot and was surprised how well you can hide something in this game.

The Story was absolutely lovely and reminded me a little bit on my Childhood just in a more Grimm way.

Personally I prefer the Voice acting in this game over other HO / Point & Click games as to me it seemed so far the best.

All in all this Game is fantastic, however due to the fact that is rather short I do recommend getting it on Sale rather then for its base price of 13€.

Gorgeous, interesting, and the puzzles were fairly easy. All it needs to be perfect is the addition of achivements.

It does goes on sale sometimes, so you can buy on discount or in the bundle. In the previous game the devs started to care a great deal about animations so they're still quite good. Another one of Blue Tea's best games. If you're playing the series back-to-back you might notice highly similar puzzles to the previous three games, but it's not enough to discredit the good experience.

This is a typical hidden object puzzle game. It's very straightforward for the most part, although you may have some difficulty if you're a total idiot like me. The story is top-notch, and the graphics are excellent. The gameplay is great, but I did have some trouble finding some objects that were hidden behind interactable parts of hidden object scenes. Unfortunately, a complaint I have with the previous three games continues with this game. You are not allowed to replay the main story without starting an entirely new save, and you are also not allowed to explore the world after you complete the story, which is very disappointing. I still would recommend this game to others though.

This is Dark Parables #6, which is again a bit of an incoherent mishmash of various fairy tales. It's not quite as bad as The Final Cinderella, but I still found the story quite nonsensical.

Unfortunately, too, they've decided to change the gameplay a bit: hidden-fragment scenes may now include "hidden" hidden-fragments, which require you to click on an unrelated item to reveal them, e.g. opening a drawer or moving aside a curtain. This is annoying because it means you have to click randomly on other objects in order to find the necessary fragments. It's unsatisfying.

Still, if you enjoyed previous entries in the series, and are, you will likely enjoy this one, too.

This is another of the Dark Parables hidden object games from Blue Tea Games. They are all very beautiful and very good.

There is a very good map. It will show if there is a HOG in a room or Objective
The Map will also show you what the room/scene looks like - which can be helpful.
Some, not all but lots, of the Hidden Object Screens have one or more spots you need to do something - move an object, open a box, etc. Made things more interesting.
A Bonus Story very nice, and not too short
In the Bonus section there are some pages from the storybook with some comments which is interesting.

Cons:
Still no Fast Travel - so there is some backtracking, but not too much.
No achivement, but not everyone cares about that. Just so you know when you buy.

Love All the games in the series and looking forward to another playthrough in the future.

One day the peace in Alblasserwaard, South Holland , is cut short by the appearance of a castle in the sky amidst the clouds and reports of large chunks falling down and hurting many innocents, among the reports of an unknown man threatening the locals. The Fairytale Detective must team up with Jack, a local adventurer, in order to infiltrate the mystical Sky Kingdom and stop this from happening while uncovering the past that the local hero seems to want to hide.
The sixth title of the Dark Parables starts strong, this time bringing the Jack and the Beanstalk with elements of Rumpelstiltskin and even other tales of greed, along with the series usual own spin to the story. While it somehow does feel a straightforward adventure like the Red Riding Hood Sisters instead of the amazing crescendo that was The Final Cinderella, the end leaves a few things open despite the happy ending for the protagonists – and it will certainly come back to haunt the Fairytale Detective in the future. Still, the way they reinvent some stories like the magical beans and the three brothers is always entertaining to witness.

Besides the noticeable comic book style text box for the characters speaking on the screen – which is quite often this time around – there are a few new things around. One of them is that even in casual mode once you skip a puzzle the hint system is locked for a few minutes as opposed to merely recharging as usual.
However, the most noticeable change is now that some of the hidden object scenes have hidden compartments and objects to open, like drawers. Some of them are obvious enough, like looking under a doll, while the secret niches can get slightly hard to tell.

As expected from the series, the graphics still have the high-detailed storytelling with each area from Jack’s cottage and the Sky Kingdom reflecting its inhabitants and their personalities, which leads to some very varied backgrounds. King Eurig’s greed also provides for some lavish things that, compared to the other kings, was actually quite modest perhaps because the treasure was stolen by Jack.

The bonus showcases the Queen of the Sky Kingdom and the consequences of the actions that led her to marry King Eurig and how by the end she left him. It is mostly inconsequential to the main story, but gives some extra depth for the antagonist and some beautiful places to explore.

Jack is a fun co-protagonist and the Sky Kingdom has some very interesting worldbuilding, but it pales in comparison to the other two previous. While it does introduce ideas like groups of adventurers and fortune-seeking with some grave consequences and a melodramatic story, some elements narrowly fall short.

I love this series and this story reminded me all the reasons why - the creative, fantasy storytelling that intertwines legends and provides unexpected plot twists. The backgrounds are absolutely stunning and it's a shame to spend so little time in some scenes! I love the variety of hidden object scenes. I admit to skipping a couple of puzzles later in the game as my tired brain wanted to enjoy the game rather than be frustrated.

The bonus chapter provided great fairytale context - even adding in more characters.

Loved it, recommend it, definitely getting the next one to play through!
