Frustrating
How does a game that is this old still have this heavy of performance issues. It's pretty interesting how every other game I play, seems to have no issues at all, if so, minimal, however this is the only game I've ever played, where I've never been able to avoid 100% cpu usage on my i5-9600k oc to 5ghz. To those nerds who think it's an old chip. YES, YOU'RE RIGHT, but you also need to consider that AAA title games, run EXCEPTIONALLY SMOOTH anywhere from very low graphics to high-ultra settings, sometimes ray tracing. I understand its an open world game that doesn't utilize a lot of graphics processing, but I still don't understand how even on a very low setting at 1440p, it can't compare to even newer games with ray tracing, high settings, etc
The money these developers are raking in, are throwing it at anything BUT stability control. Why do we need a startup animation? Why do we need 5 (or however many) options to craft weapon skins? Why get rid of proximity chat? Why remove the ability to play small/large maps or a specific one? All of these most definitely turns players away, but at the cost of making more money for their selves. There's so much you can do, that doesn't obviously scream "BS"

You really helped him. Please stop spamming players posts without offering solutions.

PUBG is extremely cpu heavy because its large map random action multiplayer game with a lot of player on map. Your CPU sync all of the players actions, animations, inventories + processing netcode things + anti cheat etc,etc...
There is no things like that in AAA single player games, they have everything scripted and preloaded.

The i5 9600k is really bad CPU for competitive online gaming today, i recommend upgrade to atleast 12400f or better 5600/5700x3d from AMD, or just stay away from such games.

How i understand you !
But the fact is, there are NO optimizations, that's all.

And I disagree with ZF001, beacause i've played 500h at 60FPS 1440p (constantly), but since months i'm at 35/45FPS with drops !
CPU sometime at 50, othertime at 100%... GPU at 60%. The menu can't hold 30FPS...
And that even with only 10 players alive.

Star Citizen in alpha run better on my conf that PUGB.. And this game really consume 100% CPU and 100% GPU. PUBG beside Star Citizen is a tetris.

GTX 1070 OC
32Go RAM

For me i just found my heavy fps drop problem that I've had for months !

Yesterday I found.
It was the "In-game FPS limit". If this parameter is "Based on monitor" with V-Sync, the game is unplayable. --> Need to set "Unlimited" if V-Sync activated

Don't now if it can help, or if it's applicable to high frequency monitors..

With that, my CPU can sometimes be at 100%, but i'm always at 60FPS !
GPU at 35% only.
