PUBG PC videos on Youtube and Tencent copyright strikes.
I was doing some experiments with regards to uploading video from PUBG PC on Youtube and seeing if Tencent copyright strike the videos and noticed something that may help explain what the cause of the issue is.

I tagged my videos as "gaming" related but never assigned a game. I did put in "PUBG PC" in to the title though.

When I checked in on the video a day later I saw that the "Topic channel" was set to "PUBG Mobile" and tagged with auto assigned (by Youtube).

It would seem that unless you specifically tag the video with "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds 2017" (yeah...Youtube doesn't have the up to date name) then Youtube automatically assumes that it's PUBG mobile.

Tencent were then searching videos that were tagged as PUBG Mobile and doing copyright strikes on mass with anything involving a cheating topic, be it advertising cheats or simply some game-play encountering cheats.

Still no excuse for it to happen. Testing by Tencent should have confirmed this before impacting so many unrelated channels and so many videos not advertising cheating.

The topic assignment where you select the game is optional, but Youtube will automatically assign it if it's blank. Youtube is also faulty in this regard as it's ignoring key words in the title to get the correct game assigned.

I've now gone back and manually assigned my videos with the correct game and will watch to see if they get a strike from Tencent. So far, so good.
