RTX 5080 - game crashes very often

I have a 5090 and I've never encountered this issue. Dunno about the 5080, could be a bottleneck or hardware issue.

Check all your cables are seated properly after installing the card. Had a 5090 and a 5080 in the shop because people dislodged a cable while fitting those huge cards.
