Got banned for no reason
This is my brothers account, he insisted I check out if his PC can play PUBG.
Well, it's an old i3-7100 with a GTX 960 4GB and 16GB of ram, not even joking, it was running at 1FPS per 5 seconds on tutorial. It was a mess to even try to close it.
I've opened up his Steam account 2 days later to uninstall the game as there is no reason for a 50GB unplayable game to be on his SSD, and saw a steam warning.
With what kind of info did they ban him permanently on PUBG.
As for the trolls that will be here about cheating and such, there was no cheating or micros involved. How can I resolve this?

It's not that I really care, but it's the fact that this is my brothers main account, despite him not playing many games on steam, I don't like having the ban thing on his profile.
It's just that it surprised me, I saw the warning on steam and though it was a hack attempt on his account or something, as I've never been banned on anything.

It's BS, but when playing PUBG with low-ass specs like that, the game often fails to load things in time. That means that you end up being able to see players when you shouldn't, and the lag in combination with the servers means that you may move super fast in the perception of anyone else running it properly. PUBG would have picked that up as "altering the player experience". Just to be clear, I'm not defending the ban, just explaining why it probably happened. You could maybe appeal it?

You need a quad core at least for this game anyway. That's why it was running like a turd.

I knew the game was not going to run... As i've said my brother insisted a lot. Either way, it was not multiplayer, we were trying to do the tutorial, but I guess your point still stands quite clear because at some point because of the lag it looked like our character was teleporting xD. Thanks a lot for the explanation Snufflegrunt.

No worries. This game is very CPU bound. You could slot in a cheap i5 from the same CPU generation and probably get 60fps on low settings 1080p.

That was a Vac ban, as you being banned 2 times in a raw, first on PUBG after on STEAM.

I love to hear all these cheaters who complain to be banned and try to recover the account, pff... Fineally something good happen!

PUBG's anticheat is very strict, because it has to be, although I question the necessity of it being kernel-level. The information OP gave is consistent with other bans that have happened when attempting to play on unsupported hardware. It's partly why PUBG isn't used as a benchmark anymore, because otherwise it would be quite solid for that purpose.

The only rule he's technically breaking is using an account that isn't his, apparently. Tbh that's a bit sus but not sus enough. The rest of the info makes me 95% certain that it's a ban made in error.

I do not deny by any fact that this game is filled with hackers. But I don't have anything to hide and this is 100% a false ban. Snufflegrunt explained what probably happened. As for the "Finally something good happen!" I don't think the game is going in the right direction, each week we get "updates" with weekly bans that exceed 60K bans just for cheating. After the game went free, everything with it started going wrong.

My brother isn't a pc guy, believe it or not he doesn't even know how to download a game here on Steam, I do everything for him so he doesn't do any mistakes. If helping somebody download a game is sus, the I don't know what to say, but I don't have anything else to hide here. Either way thanks for the explanation of PUBG's anticheat.

Yeah fair enough. I think you took what I said incorrectly. I was explaining to the other person why you're legit. You gotta admit that most people who got banned for a legit reason would say things like "it was my brother" or words to that effect.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, and you are most definitely right about that.
Any hacker would use these kind of excuses. Either way, I see how I can apply for a ticket so it can be checked out. Thanks again.

100%. It's been the same with Team Fortress 2 and CS as well. Both were great before they went F2P. Now, like PUBG, they're something I fire up every 12 months or so to get my "fix" before uninstalling due to over-monetisation and hackers.

Pretty much that. While there still were hackers back in that time, I remember they were so scarce, after all, they were risking their account and nearly 30 euros/dollars each time.
On my main pc which I can run it fine, I play a couple of games every now and then, but obviously, I can never get a chicken my self, not because of the hackers, but we are basically fighting either hackers, or extremely skilled players with years of playtime and because I'm hopping from game to game all the time, I will never be able to be good at a single game.
The "updates" are also just sad, "WEEKLY BANS" 60K Sometimes I see 80-90K bans for hacking. Can we stop and understand that number for a second? Like for real.

Maybe it's geographic because in western EU I barely find any. I've encountered 3-4 during the past couple of weeks. I've got a few dinners in my current phase and I wouldn't regard myself as good at the game.
