Does the person who is firing have their targets indicated on the map or is the firing completely random?

You can put a marker down and calculate the distance on the map. Each smaller square on the map when zoomed in is 100m. So in this way you can gauge the distance to the marker.

Assuming that a marker is being placed at a known location where players are you can get pretty accurate.

However, some wall hacks will show the distance the other player is. A player with this assistant will be much more accurate as they will know the exact distance. This is a massive advantage.
