PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS
Surge in cheating bans...maybe this explains it....
With over 500k bans in the last 14 days, it would seem that PUBG anticheat Dev's have become less tolerant of the cheating.

However, reading a post on the official Reddit for PUBG I think there's another very possible reason for it.

Can PUBG please comment and confirm that this exploit is something that could impact PUBG players?

If what is being discussed on the post, a bad actor can potentially ban any PUBG user account by spoofing their name and tricking BattlEye to false report the player and get their account permabanned.

Oh boy, this is getting nuts.
Animosity between cheaters, no honour amongst thieves I guess...
One can hope it may lead to conflict, where they each rat each other out for the better of the game.

The impact of this could potentially be going back to the start of PUBG.

It has been an exploit for that long. It was only recently leaked, apparently by the same hacker that leaked the Apex exploit.

The magnitude of this issue seems to be very understated.

It sounds like they should be able to find false bans and reverse, but how long do they store data about this. Potentially bans from years back could be reversed.

Very embarrassing.
game seems fine to me
The surprising thing is that there are more new cheater accounts in the game than the number of bans this week.
