Game has become impossibly hard?

I have been playing PUBG on and off for several years, and have generally had a good balance between fun, competitive matches, and frustrating, unlucky matches. But recently it seems like something has gone terribly wrong. My K/D is down the toilet, I haven't won a match in ages, and 99 out of 100 matches is just pure frustration, as it seems either every other player's skill has become insane, or they're using cheats, or both. It's just not at all the same gameplay experience as it was just a while ago. Does anyone else feel like the game has become impossibly hard recently? At the same time, my friend just started playing PUBG for the first time, and gets only matches with bots, where you can win by not even killing anyone, because the last bot just dies to the playzone lol. Literally they won two matches back to back in this way, with 0 kills and no shots fired. So what the hell is going on?? Why can't I play against players my skill level any more? Did everyone except the die-hard try-hards stop playing this game? Did they mess up matchmaking somehow? If someone shares this sentiment please leave a comment!

They dont have enough players for matchmaking close level players so they put you with very experienced played and ofc this kills all the fun. Thats why I stopped playing. I'm level 260 Bronze and I encounter Gold Tier most of the time.

I feel the same. I see so many brand new accounts with insane K/D, godlike aim a magical sense to know everyones position, I´m sure there are dozens of cheat...natural talents around this game!

There is a several reasons for that and its gonna be worse and worse every year.

1. Skill level increase - game is out for ages and majority of playerbase playing very well.
2. Cheaters - PUBG has more than 25% of playerbase using internal cheat software or other illigal assistance.
3. Hardware overscale - super fast refresh monitors, extremely lightweight mices and other hardware become more and more accessible when the game barely evolves. Everyone can afford best gear now.
4. Match balance - a lot of matches are unbalanced because game is dead in EU/NA, so you are forced to play with random people, not those who have similar to your stats. There is only veterans left, newcomers either play with bots or give up early.
5. Gameplay and mechanics changes - developers keep pushing esports playstyle where you forced to have hight APM, "on the fly, out of box" thinking. This tendency goes from mid 2021 but 2024 end is the pinnacle of that.
6. Maybe you just bad - maybe you too old for competitive gaming (less reaction,dedication, real life worries etc) so you cant compete against kids with a lot of free time and 0 problems.
