How is this game in 2024

I kind of miss battle royale games but all of them seem to be dead or a shadow of their former self. The best one, The Culling, was run into the ground by its own dev team, Darwin Experiment has been dead for years, Fortnite is alive but I don't like it, haven't played PUBG in nearly 6 years, did they ever fix it up?

Short answer, no.

Long answer. They made PUBG free, allowing cheaters to create new limitless free accounts. So cheating is at the worst high level since 2017 probably. Even WackyJacky and other people making a living of playing PUBG says it. It is a fact, and everybody that is not brain dead agrees.

Now, PUBG is still the most fun game out there, sadly. No other game comes close to the maps and weapon management and loot and all that.

So, I try to find joy, not in getting chicken dinner. I had hundreds of chicken dinners, the buzz and excitement is long gone.

But I do still get a buzz of wiping a 4-man squad or 3-man squad. Or doing an excellent play, killing 7-8 enemies after jumping in a large city. And so on.

But the poor server qualities, stutter and latency problems, and cheating, is PUBG anno 2024. It is a part of the game and you have to accept it.

Yes worth playing, there are many negative comments about cheaters, and there are some but personally i think its just that some are not that good and blame cheating. Many people want it to be another CoD but its a completely different game, one or two shots can kill, you don't need a whole clip, its about stealth not spray and prey or run and gun. You only need one kill to win but you can enjoy the journey to the end.

Look how much the game changed from early 2017 until 2020 so yes, the game has improved a lot.

I can recommend it but FPP instead of TPP and it's worth a look either way.

Even pro players like Shroud often got killed by the players you describe, enemies sitting still not moving and the get easy kills when good players run in their house or whatever.

I don't camp, but i do set traps and target squeeze points, to get the easy meat that don't know how to play the game. I like car chases and ultimately getting to last 10. If it was just run and gun I would go to another game as it would spoil the concept of PUBG

However, it has nothing to do with the problems of cheating. Your arguments only adresses game play. Lets be clear about that.

Yes there is cheating, as with most games on Steam or EA. Every game has post about how bad cheating is. I do report players, but after i watch the replay i i suspect. The usual ones are silly names AA123BBB etc, but i also look at stats of a suspected cheater, you know the ones with 40 games 400 kills and 38 wins, however my experience is that these account for perhaps 3/4 a month, maybe a few more. But I just don't see the amount of cheating that is claimed, if so i would not play PUBG. As for chicken dinners I only get 4/5 a season, but for me its not about the kill ratio, its about enjoying the game.

They're not a good player then are they if they got out-smarted by another player. The good player in this case is the one who didn't reveal himself by either moving and alerting the opponent of his position....Smart play.

They're not a good player then are they if they got out-smarted by another player. The good player in this case is the one who didn't reveal himself by either moving and alerting the opponent of his position....Smart play.

You are correct, Shroud is a trash computer games player. He will never be good.
