I am one player that turns of the mic, most of the matches. About 80% of the matches, I play with no mic on.
Now, I have been playing since 2017. So communication in a BR like PUBG is very much important.
However, MIS-information is MUCH worse than no communication. Trust me.
Almost NO-one knows when to speak and when to shut up.
After landing, first second team mate is knocked down "Help he is one hp"
Me"Ok, I have no gun"
Him "Cmon, he is one hp"
Me: "Wait, I HAVE NO GUN"
I could do a long list. But I don't care, really.
Most players in 2023 do not speak the Queens English anyway. So it's always confusing mix of ♥♥♥♥♥.
If, I understand that team mates are actaully good, then I participate with the mic on.
And no, I do NOT play solo. To wipe squad after squad of nose bleed enemies are impossible. Most enemies sit still and makes no sound and kill you like the cowards they are.
Anyway, it is what it is. Still a fun game, all in all.
The queen dead, jo
Yep, it's not the Queens English anymore. They're right about the usual state of communication in the game though. "HES THERE!!!! HES RIGHT THERE 1HP" dude calm tf down and tell us where "right there is" place a marker, though apparently pushing a button to talk is far too much hassle for you so pushing a button to mark might be a bit too much as well"
I mute live mics and groups who just want to talk about what ever it is they're talking about, you know those who love the sound of their own voice, I would rather hear enemy footsteps than all about someones favourite TV show, never mind actually hear their TV show blaring in the background or worse, people sitting chewing, breathing, coughing etc down their live mic and this happens 80% of the matches.
Anyway, to get instructions from a new player on what to do (NO, you are not an expert after 100 hours of PUBG) is annoying af.
"but are they good with it?" is the real question
Hard to play on a high level with push to talk. When fighting it breaks your aim and focus. However, I use a headset where its ok to have always talk. But I usually don't for the reasons I wrote above.
Add me if you can play and care about your team without a mic.
Not the fault of the game anyway.
Yep, this.
But turning off the mic does not help at all. If i see teammates with mic turned off why should i bother to talk at all?
I don't get a respond or they ignore what i say like the enemy is on 230 degree around 50 meter away on my mark. I mean how specific shoud i give a position of an enemy? O_o
