this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in terms of optimization, i have the same gpu, a 1060 3GB, yes its not that good in today's terms but, sometimes I get 100 fps stable, and then it drops to 20 and it stays there for 10 seconds, then its back to 100 fps.
cmon i can run gta5 with 120 fps stable.
Upgrade your ♥♥♥♥ PC. 1060 is like 5 bucks these days.

oh really? so give him a new card, troll
1060 is GPU from 2016. Wake up, its 2023
Game so well optimized that streamers with high end pcs quit because of the crashes and poor performance in general(chocotaco).
Strange how only a small number of vocal people are experiencing problems and yet the majority of the active playerbase are playing the game with no issues.

I get a few of you are having problems but you're not helping yourselves here, if you need help give us a list of steps of what you've done to try resolve your issues along with your configurations both hardware and software..like what components are in your PC, what software configs are you using like default Windows setup or did you disable or install extra software like third party Antivirus etc..is your system overclocked, what settings are you using for PUBG? Have you updated your Windows install? Have you updated your graphic drivers? Also if you're using Windows 11 be prepared to deal with growing pains within that OS, its unstable and a lot of software and drivers are having issues which affect performance and stability.

I suggest reformatting your drive, reinstalling Windows (preferrably Win10) downloading and reinstalling your chipset drivers and your graphics drivers from their official websites (amd/nvidia). Don't install any other third party software until you've had a chance to test your PUBG install... IF you don't want to do that here are my other suggestions...

Go to your Power management setting in your Windows Settings or Control panel and set to Maximum Performance/Better Performance. (link you a guide here -https://computerinfobits.com/how-to-change-power-plan-windows-10/ )

Next

Go to your Nvidia Control Panel then Manage 3D settings (sorry AMD users I don't have an AMD GPU)

Image Scaling to On and set to 50%
Low Latency Mode set to Ultra
Power management mode - Prefer maximum performance
Preferred Refresh rate - Highest Available
Vertical Sync - Off

Click apply and close Nvidia control panel.

If you're using Windows 10 check to ensure you're running Hardware Accelerated GPU scheduling along with Variable Refresh rate, also set the Graphic Performance Preference for Tslgame.exe to High Performance. These settings are under Windows Setting \ System \ Display \ Graphic Settings (scroll to bottom of the right pane) .

To add Tslgame.exe to the Graphic Performance pref select Desktop App and then click on Browse and navigate to your PUBG Steam folder normally located in similar path like this (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Binaries\Win64\Tslgame.exe). Once its been added there click on it and you'll see Options, select it and select High Performance.

Add an exclusion for Tslgame.exe to Windows Defender here's a link explaining step by step how to do add exclusions to Windows Defender (you should also do this for any other virusscanner you have. - https://winaero.com/exclusions-windows-defender-windows-10/

Make sure Processor Scheduling is set to Programs (go to Windows settings \ About \ Advanced System Settings in the System Properties Window click on the Advanced tab and under Performance click on Settings, in the Peformance options Window click on the Advanced tab and make sure the Processor Scheduling setting is set to Programs.

PUBG Graphic settings / Advanced Graphics

Run the game in DirectX 11, and in Fullscreen.
Make sure you have Render Scale set to 100.
Post-Processing set to low.
Shadows – Very Low.
Textures - Medium or High
Effects – Very Low
Foliage – Very Low
View Distance - High
Sharpen - On
V-Sync - Off
Motion Blur - Off

If you're still experiencing issues and you don't want to do the reformant/reinstall process of Windows try the SFC and DISM commands.

SFC /scannow

Right-click Windows key and select Command Prompt (Admin).
Type sfc /scannow and hit Enter

DISM Command:

To run the command do the following:
1. Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
2. Type the following command and press Enter:

Now type the following commands in the same order:
* DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
* DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
* DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Good luck:steamthumbsup:
why the heck would you get a stable 60fps on a GTX1060?

vsync on really helps the performance and stability in pubg for some weird reason

VSYNC on is slower latency yes, but its still hundreds of times more responsive than we are. It just takes a few seconds to get used to the new slightly less sensitve mouse feel of vsync enabled. But the stable performance more than makes up for it i get way more kills now.

I mean, they can't figure out how to make the lobby stable so you don't need to restart it often, so I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm running PUBG on a Ryzen 7 2700X with 32GB of RAM and a 3060 and cannot reach stable 144 with low settings on 1080p.
Half a year ago I upgraded gfx from a 1060. With that card I had around 60fps stable (even while streaming 1080p with 6000kbit/s).

So it's not only the old 1060 which is causing bad FPS. It IS a not optmized game that runs on an engine that was not designed for those type of games eg large maps and player amount.

You can either beat it with more powerful hardware or just tweak your driver and game settings even more to get the best result out of your 1060.

I agree with you, I have a Geforece GTX 1060 and the game cant even launch, are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding ? Even cyberpunk plays smooth and this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game start to lag from the startup menu lol which i cant even do anything trash game
check my profile for spec's, game runs "good" new map looks great.
my like, decade old gtx1080 (maybe its not that old im not sure but it feels like it)

still runs everything perfectly, i even had to limit my fps to 60 in the newest uncharted game because my fps was TOO HIGH

I only play at 1920x1080 and the new 12700k cpu i got seems to have made it even stronger than it already was

i can even play games people with brand new pcs cry about like calisto protocol and dead space remastered at a rock solid 60fps. Maybe i just stumbled upon the perfect config that transends time and space?

But i only get 8 frames per second in alan wake 2, and my friend with a gtx1080 claims he gets 10 frames per second in alan wake 2.

Yet im looking around in alan wake 2 trying to find which specific pixel is the one that looks 1000x better than other games warranting such a performance downgrade. Spoiler. There isnt one. Its BS. They claim the gtx1080 doesnt have something called 'Mesh shader" support.. Wtf is that? Its a game that does nothing unique nothing special.. Yet all of the sudden my card is not compatible? Wtf?

TLDR the gtx 10 series is still relevant in 2023
