100% usage on GPU and CPU while playing

I started playing yesterday and i noticed like small lag frezeings all the time, i checked my task manager i both my cpu and gpu usage was on 90-100% all the time. I dont know how to fix it and if its something to worry about.

I mostly play Rainbow Six Siege and Pubg.

I have i7-8700 and GTX 1080.

Gpu usage should be 100% or close enough. And i wouldn't rely on task manager for acurate cpu usage stats.
If cpu is 100% and you're getting freezes then somthing else is running in the background sucking up resources.

Something is wrong here.. you cant have both on 100%. 100% cpu would bottleneck your gpu and it would not run with 100%. 100% cpu is for sure not from pubg alone on this kind of cpu. It should be ~ 20%.

GPU usage 100% is fine,90-100% is what usually PUBG uses. But the CPU...hmm,idk it should be around 30-50% maybe less,maybe more

yeah i downloaded the nzxt cam software and it said my gpu was on 70-80% and gpu was on 100% i also got a ♥♥♥♥ ton of freezes when i was playing, i found that the only way to stop this was to shut down everything except for discord and the Rainbow Six, this started yesterday i have always been able to like have other stuff open and like watch a movie on my browser.

i just started playing this the the other day and i was getting horrible freezes and lag but i noticed the game was using a lot of system memory
I had 8 gb in at the time so i took another 2bg out of another pc and tried with 10 gb and although better it was not great
I put another 2gb in to bring my ram upto 12gb and it seems a lot better now
Im using an i5 2500k 12 gb memory and an r9270x 2 gb
Im playing on a tv that only goes to 720 p and when i tried the game yesterday i was getting about 50 - 70 fps and the game was running smooth enough for me
You could try msi afterburner and set up the onscreen display and check all the stats and temps
maybe something is overheating causing a thermal throttle

agreed i also moved the game to my ssd and it plays alot better than when it was on the hdd
But the original freezes i was getting was more than just the hdd i think.
The game would not just stutter but it would lock up completely for over 5 seconds or more

The CPU is not suppose to be running at 100%. Only the GPU.

The CPU running at 100% indicates its bottlenecking the GPU, or there is something in the background slowing it down. The GPU should only be at 100% during gaming/any other rendering type activities.

The CPU running at 100% is bottlenecking it is using all its power while the GPU won’t be using full power. However, if both are at 100%, typically there is a virus or some other background program taking up resources.

mabye your cpu is about to go off. mabye you have some progarms in the background you need to check. Mine is using 12-25%
