Can't make it past create a character screen?

I'm stuck perpetually loading on the create a character screen and it never loads. I just installed the game today and have everything set up right but it just won't load even after 10-15 minutes of waiting (tabbed into the game). Anybody else experiencing the same issue?

I was able to fix it by quitting out of the game, restarting steam and verifying the integrity of the game files. There was nothing missing but whatever was messed up got fixed somewhere in the process.

its working now. someone told me to do the following: go to %appdata%, Local < TslGame < Saved < Config < WindowsNoEditor < deleted GameUserSettings.ini, and then verified the game files from steam and then run the game. i closed steam in task manager and reopened just in case and tada it worked.
