got a black screen on startup? i have a fix

so a friend today had an issue starting up the game, everything worked perfectly before but the update yesterday or something broke it for them, they always start up the game and only have a black screen.. so i looked for a solution and it worked.

in the game files, you can find a folder called "movies" and you have to delete the intro mp4 files, after that it just works. no idea why its an issue. hope i helped someone out!

Use the Windows explorer and to go:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Content\Movies

The issue might be related to missing video codecs on your machine. If you want to check, you might start the basic movement and attack tutorial as there are lot of videos there. If you don't even see them, you would need to install a codec pack (typically K-Lite Codec Pack) otherwise I am wrong and the issue is related to something else.

Thing is, the game worked just fine before the updates, and any basic Windows installation should come with an encoder, i never ever had any issues related to that.. steam also downloads all the stuff you need for the games, DirectX, blabla

Apparently, some f*cking trailer/intro is supposed to play when the game launches. The lobby, and everything as well, will not load until the intro/trailer is done, and somehow the "movie" won't start. So by removing their sh!tty buggy trailer/movie, you'll skip it, and load the lobby.

It is obviously not intended to cause problems, but I (and others) can't help getting pissed off by it.

I hope this helps others.
