Suddenly being stuck on a black screen when starting the game
Anyone else getting this?

I can't get the game to start, I only see a black screen and the cursor and lots of GPU coil whine. I have tried:

Reinstalling graphics drivers
Removing and reinstalling GeForce experience (my GeForce experience has for some reason lost all my games and settings, can't get them back)
Reinstalling the game
Also tried to reinstall older graphics drivers

No changes to my setup whatsoever before the problem just randomly started appearing.

Other games that I play work just fine.

mine always forced close after 10 minutes play. i play 2 week ago worked fine but now its annoying to always forced close. I verify file do nothing, update Adrenalin too. Is it because new patch or something else??

Verify doesn't solve all problems, please perform a clean reinstall.


Uninstall/reinstall PUBG
Sometimes issues occur where files are corrupted, permissions aren’t set correctly, or certain aspects of the game aren’t installed correctly. To fix this we need to completely uninstall PUBG and associated files.



1 Uninstall PUBG

Go to your Steam library
Right Click on PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS and select Uninstall
A windows will pop up asking for confirmation, click on Delete

2 Remove associated files

Press Windows Key+R
Type in %localappdata% and then press Enter or OK
Delete the folder TslGame
Navigate to Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye and delete the file BEService_pubg.exe
Navigate to Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and delete the folder PUBG
In Steam go to Settings>Downloads and click on CLEAR DOWNLOAD CACHE
Restart Steam

3 Reinstall PUBG

Had high hopes for this, but didn't help. After this the same problem occured. Then I did the file validation and it said 2 files failed to validate and will be reacquired - I have never had this happen before. 1 file failing to validate is normal though.
Found some corrupt files but couldn't fix all of them. I'll try to repair my Windows installation. I don't have a VPN. Thanks!
Go to \Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Content
and rename Movies to Movies_

No but a VPN should work. It's impossible for us to get the real reason and I don't think it is something on your end like, router or something.

It's your ISP, most likely not too but it's possible, or any routing point on the way to the server.
i do use exitlag. then i realize its because unstable network or maybe server. i have 92 ping then after 5 or 10 minutes become 2000 ping. that's why i have forced close. i use exitlag but same problem occurred

If you still have problems even if you use a VPN, it's most likely something on your end.
Check your home connections like wifi and router for problems.
but i suspect with server or new patch. before new patch game works fine to me

Proton VPN offers a 7 days trail without to pay anything.
No risk.

I'm sure you can solve your problem if you use a VPN. It's most likely a connections issues where something on the way to the server blocks your connection.

I guess I could try a free VPN just to see if that's the cause. I'd just like to see the devs respond to at least some threads here discussing severe problems with the game, but I don't have high hopes since they closed down the official forums due to "lack of use".

They were full of bug reports and improvement suggestions that mostly fell on deaf ears. Appreciate the comments of the commonuty though!

You should join the discord of them and you also can get answers there many times.
They don't listen, is a myth if you ask me. Just because they don't respond to everything doesn't mean they ignore bugs or issues. Most at the time, they have good reasons for it.

Most of my reported bugs got fixed by time. But I do agree, to close the forum seems like a bad step for many parts of the community. I also don't like it so much because we lost a lot of important content and explanations.

But in my opinion, it did work. The communication on the discord between the commmunity and the devs is really good. Join it you will see. :)

They should have let the forum stay to keep the content, this is my only point of critizm there.

i do use Exitlag
Lega replied in another thread, this finally worked for me:

"Back up \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Content\Movies file, then delete this folder and log in to the game again
This is the solution given to me by the customer service and it works."
So anyone else with the same problem, do the above. Reinstalling and verifying game files etc. DOES NOT work, the above does.
I will change it above now.
