For a gaming pc 16 gigs is recommended because that way you will always have more then enough. Unless a game has a memory ♥♥♥♥ and eats up all your ram.
But 8 gigs isn’t enough for pubg. You can run the game but. Remeber that windows will eat up like 2-4. That leaves you with 4-6 gigs of ram. While you should have at least 8 for gaming itself. Just to make sure things load when they have to.
Ram also has a very minor affect on fps. Which is based on the ram speed itself and the increase usually is only about 2-6 fps.
Well I'm talking GPU specific with the 1080's, personally here with a 970 SSC I haven't had an issue with a single game , even the most recent on 8gb, moving forward when I get around to doing a Ryzen build yes 16gb will happen..
