Thanks for that tip Mr. Poo.

CTRL key?

Yeah control makes you walk, makes less sound.

About boots, I don't think it makes any difference. Haven't tested it myself, put I saw couple people reporting it makes the footsteps quietter for you, but others hear them just normal. This would make sense.

Do the devs really want everyone running bare foot, with all teh customization they have planned? I don't think so, becouse that is what people will do, already you see a ton of people doing that.

It just seems like a dumb feature, it is like making jackets making you run slower, make it optimal way to play by not using customization items.

If you are in a team, you can try it out, and report here. I play mostly solo, so I can't confirm it.

Barefoor or boots...its the same sound. Ive tried both, and heard both. Is why i wear my punk boots again. Shuffle stepping is quiet, and paying attention to what is under your feet helps too. Rock to grass, wood plank to carpet, concrete to steel etc.

Being bare foot makes no difference devs confirmed this on their charity live stream lol have to press ctrl to walk an looking down sight makes you walk slower

That makes sense, thanks for confirming it.

Lol I was just joking about the barefoot thing. I assumed it made no difference.

Boots make a diff sound. every boot is diff and every surface does a diff sound, it was on the previous patch notes. Barefoot makes a really anoying slaping noise. And so far the Punk Boots are the quiters

Going barefoot is no different then wearing shoes it just changes the sound lol

Personally I think going bare foot do more noise becaues it make kind of a slapping noise nothing else in game do. Easier to spot for me.

I'm sure if you ask the community at large that you will go close to 50-50 on the matter.

So my best bet is that it's only something close to an urban legend at this point. :/

Barefoot makes noises differently than the shoes. So, running on grass is a little more silent but when you're walking around in a building you seem to make more noise.

Pretty well done in my opinion.

I think there should be a difference between sitting still and crouchwalking, I never hear footsteps only above me on the first floor the muffled ones. What i mean is that i just died sitting next to a house looking for the guy and then he shoots me tru the open window next to me like 1 ingame-meter away. And i didnt heard one noise. After dead i heard all of his footsteps.
is this normal?
