Silencer, and crossbows are meant to be undetected.
PUBG isn't going to just hand you an indicator. If you play the game more frequently, it should grow on you. Learn to dodge shots and watch the ground for puffs of dirt. That is another way to tell if the shots are coming from certain directions. Leave it at that.
All I'm saying is that in real life I would generally know which side I've gotten hit from. that is all I want. I don't want an exact location I want to know where the heck I'm getting hit from
as MANY already said, you can hear EXACLTY where the shot comes from (If its not silenced) and its distance by hearing. It would be a cheap and USELESS mechanic that no one wants in this game. It would make it too easy to be able to retaliate against attacks.
I'm not going to argue this. Take time to learn the game and you will eventually be able to tell where shots are coming from.
Perhaps leaving bullet wounds on the body would surfice, damage indicator seems way too arcady, and cheesey.
Listen... listen!
also. yeah it isn't real life so why can't I have a basic damage indicator?
because we already said multiple times it would be too easy to spot where people would get shot from if there would be an indicator and it would be boring.
I have damaged hearing on my left ear, and have 3D depth issues when listening for surround sound. even i can handle and HEAR where the shot comes from and its general distance.
The sound in this game is virtually spot on in my opinion.
TL:DR I know which side of my body is feeling pain. I'm not a military trained listener and I don't know guns. damage indicator's aren't cheap dying for no reason is.
