Apply Script to mute a specific application, in this case, PlayerUknown.
I am about to install this as well, very hard to hear squadmates when:
On the Plane ride.
When Parachuting.
While riding/driving in a vehicle.
Adjusting Sound "Effect" slider in-game will lower ALL sound effects, including footsteps and gun fire, so it is basically pointless to adjust this since you will be unable to distinquish effect noises.
I grow a tired of having to adjust the PC Sound Mixer during every match, during every plane ride and during every vehicle ride.
(Edit: I use TeamSpeak and Discord. So muting PlayerUknown (just the application) is what I am going for. So while using 'FN+F1' will mute ALL of your system audio, this is not really a helpful suggestion as that will mute even TeamSpeak and Discord.)

This is a step-by-step guide. You will need Nircmd and WinHotKey. Follow the steps~ I have it working and played a few games in peace thanks to a simple button press.
Shout out to SoPrecious, without this step-by-step guide I was about to give up on trying the previous method I had posted.
LOVE the idea, something like CTRL+M to Mute/Unmute in-game sound sure would be nice! Similar to CTRL+T muting Voice Chat.
Was looking how i can do this and they apparently added it to ctrl+m
