Can't hear anything behind me.
Hello guys,

all of a sudden I can't hear things behind me anymore. Like let's say there's a bombing zone and I look directly at it I can hear it very loud. When I turn my back to it I hear nothing. Same goes with every other sound. You could stand behind me firing a whole AK mag, I couldn't hear it. Anyone has the same or an Idea how to fix it?

Sound setting, Nvidia controle pannel, The software for your headset. Hard to tell you not knowing what you are using

How does that make any sense? You don't know if his system was updated so why are you assuming some mysterious system update broke it? Are you talking about a game update? A game update wouldn't modify system settings and it would have effected more than 1 guy.

There hasn't been an Nvidia or AMD driver update either so it can't be that. There also haven't been any Realtek updates.

No Windows updates in the last few weeks touched Anything sound related. Software for a headset wouldn't do this either, if it did he wouldn't hear any sound.

The only way a headset could be at fault would be if it was a true multi channel headset and the rear channels plus both the left & right channels got unplugged which would again mean he would also have issues with sound coming from the front and the sides.

OP other than it just not working have you noticed anything else in any other games or is it just this one game?

Initially, I found the sound in this game to be REALLY useless. But the more I play, the more I realize: there is at least some positional information being provided in the signals. I find that sitting still and using the Alt key to pivot my "head" from side to side while a sound is ongoing is somewhat helpful to determine the position from which it is coming and/or which direction it is moving.

There's definitely positional audio. I play on an Atmos setup and while the game doesn't support it it does support 5.1 or at the very least pro logic 2 which would allow for 4 discreet channels of positional audio. Based on the engine i believe it's standard 5.1

My receiver says "multi-in" when the game is running and if it wasn't using positional audio it would only say stereo.

It's incredibly helpful and has saved me many times. I put the volume up and even with my eyes closed I can aim exactly where footsteps are coming from.

Headphones are great but I'll take true positional audio any day plus nothing beats 2000 watts of battle audio.

There was a windows update the other night that every streamer on twitch had the exact same problem. That is what i was refering to Windows updates go out to EVERYONE. Be part of the solution other than trying to debunk something that youi dont know about. He has the same problem that 6+ streamers had and myself although it did not effect everyone i was just trying to put what i know about this issue out there. I know game updates dont do nothing to your system but windows updates do. If you dont think there has been a windows update in a while maby you should restart your pc so they can go into effect.
