What matter is your download speed - and it may be afected by type of internet connection, aged hardware or even ISP throting your service.
my bad, I meant to say that my current download speed is 1.0 mbs while the peak is 3.3 mbs under the network usage tab.
Then you have an answer - your download speed is slow.
This update consists of 12gb of files - with 3.3mb peak and 1mb average it's obviously gonna take ages.
ADSL is not high speed internet. 1mbps is not high speed.
Don't look at the network usage tab as this gives you can inaccurate view of the internet bandwidth. Test your bandwidth at www.speedtest.net - btw, if you have 1mbit you'll be lucky to download at 500kb/s.
And this 'patch' is 9,5gb ? and IF you are downloading at 500kb/s you wouldn't be done this year :p
It's not correct - he may have a high speed internet which is stable but due to being split into adapters the download speed might be limited to 1mb download for his unit (the way internet access at uni's dorms are being managed).
Either way, the answer is download speed.
Thanks for your answer, I just used the term "high speed internet" because that is what is says on my bill for my internet. I guess I'll contact my internet service provider to see if it really is.
It differs from country to country and localisation - you cannot trust a provider with "high speed" thingy as they will lie their way to get into your wallet.
For example here in UK I have 50mb/s package which is the cheapest one with Virgin Media.
Actual download speed is 55.82Mb/s with 3.02Mb/s upload acording to speedtest.net
This is by no means high speed internet, as for few extra pounds I could get 200mb/s.
But I am not boasting what I can have, it is just example to highlight the diffrence in service speed.
Post a speedtest result, tell us more about the wiring, tell us what provider and what plan you are on, tell us what modem/router you are using and you might get some choice advice.
