PUBG on external monitor connected to laptop issues (HELP NEEDED)
Hello all,

I know this might not be the best place to post this but i figured alot of people on here are smart and stuff and could help me.
(SO EVERYONE KNOWS: ALOT OF THIS PERTAINS TO CSGO, HOWEVER IT ALSO IS THE SAME CASE FOR PUBG)
I recently acquired a Acer XFA240 144Hz monitor and connected it to my Alienware 17 R3 laptop. THere is no display port output on the laptop so i decided to connect with HDMI (I know this limits Hz to 120Hz). When i first started up csgo, the framerate was low (around 30-50) and really laggy, (at this point the display was duplicated on the laptop and external monitor screens, so same view on both)
After realizing the lag, I set in display settings the main screen to the ext. monitor (Show only display #2) and the laptop was black screened, the only view of the computer being on the ext. monitor.
This greatly improved FPS, up to about 200-300, and right at the beginning and end of rounds in CSGO it was really smooth, but only for a second, then it becomes choppy and laggy, yet the FPS still remains @ like 200-300, although it feels like 20.
I set the monitor to use the nvidia graphics card so it is using the powerful one and should work, but continues to be choppy on csgo and pubg. I have restarted my PC multiple times and updating drivers to no avail.
One important thing is when I look into the graphics settings on the nvidia control panel, it says the laptop is using the integrated graphics while the monitor is using the nvidia gpu. Is there any way for them both to use the nvidia gpu?
Someone please help! This is driving me nuts, as I have to use my laptop and dont have access to desktop pc at this time.

laptop specs:
i7 6700HQ @ 2.6 Ghz
16G DDR4
GTX 970m

One question before anything else. Could you run them fine just using the laptop before?

My laptop with a 980m is garbage in comparision to my 5 year old desktop with a 760. Laptops suck with videogames.

Moving on, the hdmi port is most likely part of the mobo on your laptop and not a direct connect to your gfx card like full size ones.
