I've had my rating as low as 1400, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Most people in the game are in the 1700's, and there's still players in the 1800's and 1900's.
I have been playing Sanhok, but mostly because the games are shorter.
Yup, I definitely suck. I've played all the regions where a game will actually start. Definitely a lot of players much worse than me, but not at the end.
I only play FPP because I think third person is terrible for a competitive FPS, but I've thought about giving it a try. Given my lack of experience, I think I'd be pretty bad at TPP peeking. Do you think the players in TPP are worse on average?
-Stay near or around cover; if you have to move, stick to the sides of hills so you are at least covered on one side and if you're in the circle, stay crouched.
-When you haven't spotted a player, try to keep your reticle just above the horizon so if a player pops out of cover, you don't have to adjust your aim much (vertically) to line up a shot.
-Think about where you would hide (this requires map familiarity and why most people hate Miramar) and be sure to spot those areas; I've caught a lot of players this way. Most people call this game sense.
-DO NOT LOOT IN THE FINAL 10 and you should make sure to have yourself looted up at mid-game. If there's 40 left alive and you aren't kitted out comfortably, you're at a disadvantage. There has only been a handful of times where I looted a care package in the top 20 and that was because I knew it was clear and wanted that lvl3 helmet.
-If you are gonna loot care packages and bodies; take the time and throw a smoke grenade. If you killed a player and want to loot them, other people will have heard the shots and are gonna go looking for you. Care packages are better for camping for easy kills; just make sure you have good sense of who and what's around you.
-If you are gonna snipe, be ready to swap to your primary (AR typically) in an instant; if you get a body shot with a bolt action sniper, you want to follow quickly with some pot shots from your AR to secure the kill.
-USE GRENADES. If you got a couple good body shots on a guy and he's not dead behind cover, throw that grenade. Even if your aim is off, most players will cancel their heal and book it if they hear a grenade. Stun grenades are a great way to fake out a player if you're out of frags.
-If you're in the final 20 and you just got into a firefight and secured a kill: MOVE. Don't stay still where everyone has an idea of where you are. Even with suppressed weapons, that late in the game, everyone can hear you.
-You see a building/structure/cover, there's probably somebody there. Assume someone is there at all times.
-PRE-FIRE. If you are gonna peek around the corner to get a guy that you are fighting with, start firing just before you turn that corner. If you wait until you see him, you're already dead. More often than not, that person will turn defensive and try to be evasive when they hear you firing.
-Be patient and take only shots you know you can secure a kill with. If a guy is running across a field at 300m and you got a Kar98, there's a good chance you won't get the kill if they are anywhere near cover.
-Be vertical. Too many players keep their heads down when they are looting and don't look up too often when looking to start an engagement in multi-level structures. I'll be honest, I got shredded by a guy because I didn't think to look up when I heard him around me and thought he was somewhere else; if I had looked up, I would have got him.
This is a quick list I guess. Hope something here helps.
loot: Dnt let looting be ur priority...u dnt need 7 medkits, just three. 5 bandages, 100 rounds per primary weapon of ur prefered weapon, plenty of boosts and grenades to prepare for any scenario.
blue circle: It can b ur friend or worst enermy. stay ahead of it as best u can and use it... let it kill whoevas behind u at end circles. As an enermy it puts pressure on u an causes u to panic at that crucial endgame. pressure is why u die as it forces u to run without thinking or an be sure to triple boost even if your health is full... it keeps healing u if u get shot or get burned by the end circles.
Final five: its a campers game at that point, wait for all to reveal themselves whether by sight or sound. dont strike (unless u have to) till last two (besides you) are revealed n never let them knw ur position until u strike with a swift clean kill.
I have +- 3000 hrs of game time and only 16 solo wins of which Imm very proud of.
Happy hunting
