Banning Shroud - Is it enough?
This thread isn't about whether or not I think Shroud cheats himself with aimbots or radars etc, this is purely to discuss the recent incident involving a cheater.

I'm assuming everyone now knows about Shroud getting his account banned on PUBG because of not just getting a cheater to fly him to a different location, but for teaming as well - he's been banned for 30 days.

Now, it's obvious that he can still carry on playing the game by using another account. I personally don't think this is enough. I think Twitch should take action and do something to punish him ontop of the PUBG ban.

This is never going to happen because of who he is. He is basically the marketing force for PUBG now. He is the face of PUBG.

Do you think banning his main account for 30 days is enough?

Even his 'apology' was laughable - he kept saying he was sorry that people got upset or offended etc... he didn't say sorry for doing it. It's one of those apologies where you word it so it sounds like you are saying sorry to people but in actuality you are saying you are sorry you felt that way about it.

I mean, it did look like fun.
you team with a cheater.. sorry but your cheating aswell. he should be banned account banned not a 30 day ban.
now what would happen if you teamed with a cheater. you would be banned
There's no precedent for you to pull from. Teaming with a cheater in csgo doesn't even result in a ban, just a loss of rank for the amount of games played.

It's one thing being on a team with a cheater and a completely different thing teaming with a cheater and requesting a leg up using the powers the cheater possesses.

I don't think he should be perma-banned or deleted from Twitch or anything like that, it's just purely down to the fact he can just freely continue playing the game when most of us normal players would literally be banned for 30 days (obviously some people if they were that into the game would just do what Shroud's done and purchase another copy).

Exactly. What's much worse than shrouds case is the fact that the actual blatant cheaters can cheat indefinitely with new accounts. Not sure why game devs still refuse to ban by hardware ID
Even without the cheater, the rounds Shroud plays are already compromised by him just being there. The amount of stream snipers who just join to be on his stream also disrupt the game for everyone else.
You people know he got banned for a PLAYING with a cheater right? Not actually cheating.

Yeah it's messed up. He joins a game and all his little followers bring him loot, a car etc... then he get's like 10 kills within minutes just because a stream sniper refuses to engage in medieval combat or something

He got banned because he teamed, teamed with a cheater no less, and got into the car that the cheater could fly around and then asked said cheater to take him to where the players were, which he did

You are thinking too much of Shroud's and Bluehole's relationship. They need him more than he needs them. Shroud just cannot be bothered. He played along with the cheater because it was "fun". For anyone who plays PUBG as much as he does, yeah...I can see where is something like like a cheater rolling up in a flying car may interest someone who is bored out of their mind. I don't condone it, but I also do not care that he hopped in the car. He did not really apologized, just explained the situation. He really does not need to apologize for his actions. Who did he offend?

I thought it was funny an entertaing as much as Shroud did since he entertaining for a broadcast as well as playing the game. Was it stupid to do? Yeah as he says it himself, and knew the consequences. Is what he did punishable by the PUBG Corporation by teaming with a cheater, yup and he was punished to their guidelines. Is it enought from PUBG Corp.? Probably not, but that is their fault. They have weak actions and barriers in place against any cheater ban, and not doing a thing for the bigger offenders that make other acounts. Did he violate the ToS for Twitch? Not really, so why should Twitch take action?

Because he had fun is no excuse for cheating. I think that being a partner or whatever he is with Twitch and being such a high profile streamer, I believe he has a responsibility to be more.. responsible lol. If you are banned from a game you shouldn't be allowed to play that game which is where I think twitch should come in. I think twitch should block streamers streaming the game they are banned from playing for X amount of days to show that they too are behind the whole get rid of cheating in games

I think Bluehole should do something about Cheaters instead of worrying about Shroud.

That's not the arguement here, your statement is as obvious as stating pleasuring yourself is super fun.

No, the point of this is how can you make a punishment be a punishment when someone can just use a backup account to carry on playing the game
Hardware bans /thread
I know Overwatch does hardware bans.Does anyone know of any steam games that use HWID bans? I wonder if there's a steam clause that doesn't allow devs to do them.
