They sold 400 milion copies and added nothing to the game. Are you delusional? Money is not a problem for game development at this point, they are just greedy tards
Blind fangay detected. If you think the costs are as high as a bilion then I don't know what to say to you. Leave the cage and start thinking instead of deffending this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company. They added nothing, optimalization is still ♥♥♥♥, hackers are still in the game and their coding is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Dont tell me they used all their money to pay these "programmers". You are nothing but idiot
Clearly overlooked the post regarding PUBG making over $700 million in profit.
I've played PUBG since day dot one and I'll admit it has improved but nowhere near what it should be.
I'm self-employed and have been for years, so business ethics is kinda my thing... Any business that doesn't put standards first is a bad business, PUBG puts money first.
How can you call me a liar when you genuinely have never met me, know nothing of me or had knowledge of my being prior to you're infantile comments upon this thread?
I can tell a lot about you... A teen, probably divorced parents, like to talk trash online because you're less likely to get your head split than if you do it in person.
Ahhh, I was young once, not nearly as much of a tw*t as you are but I was young
Not overly sure about the details, but the short end of it is they're persuing a law suit over engine features being withheld by Epic, it doesn't have anything to do with the genre of game. Epic are ultimately not holding their end of the contact.
You have to take in consideration that PUBG made a game from 0 and the fort thingy had it's base game already made and optimized. That's why they the game it's well made.
It's like epic games had all the ingredients and they only needed to cook them but pubg had to grow them then make a recipe and then cook them.
Unreal Engine is open source and the assets are purchased for as little as $10, I honestly wouldn't be shocked if PUBG's alpha stage had no more than the low end of 5 figures total investment, excluding servers obviously.
Ruins, Miramar. It cost PUBG Corp £28.65 / $37.70 https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/modular-desert-ruins
People gotta stop thinking PUBG is spending millions upon millions in development, that just isn't the case. Next time you're in game and look at an object or pick up a weapon, just think that your very purchase, your very single transaction unique to you... Probably covered the cost of it.
They didn't spend thousands on that piece of map, they did a paypal transaction and gave some 4 eyed nerd $3 an hour to shove it in the game.
Their profit margin is disgusting and this whole battle pass on content is just another cash grab they're doing to make that profit margin even more sickening.
An Unreal engine noob could do much better.
