PUBG using 95-100% gpu even in menu.
I have tried changing the graphics settings, locking the frame rate, checking gpu drivers, cleaned my pc, idk what else it could be. ( I am also having this problem on total war: rome II ) It is just these two games. I haven't noticed performance issues, yet, but I know those are not normal numbers for gpu usages with this hardware. I have a friend who has basically the same parts and he is running pubg at 70% in game only, less in menu.

I am running an i7 6700k, 16gb of ddr4 ram, a 1T ssd, and an evga 980 ti

why you think its problem ? the game need to use 99% of the card , if your card use like 50% then your fps is low
gpu should always max out unless you are using v-sync, gpu go to full loads as they are always pushing for more frames

why are u actively trying to bottleneck ur gpu? are the temps bad?

Full usage of a gpu isn't a problem. Usage is only a problem when it isn't utilizing it enough to maintain an acceptable perfomance rate.

In an ideal rendering situation, with unlocked frame rate, you should be able to reach full usage of your gpu.

If you capped frames, then usage should go down. If usage did not go down, then I would be willing to bet that the setting didn't take. What program did you use to limit frames?

What exactly is the problem, are you having frame rate issues? For the most part, the usage metric should be of no concern to the typical user.

Theres no problem to fix.
The reason its high in the menu is that theres alot going on on the screen.

my 1080 maybe reaches 70-80% max... is that because my settings are low? i dont want to increase anything because i want max fps i can get..

PUBG is exceptionally demanding of video cards. While PUBG looks good on my GTX 960, it's running at 100% every second I play the game. (Even on the lobby/main-menu.)

Like others have said... minor differences in hardware or settings can cause a difference in GPU usage.

Means your running out of CPU power to deliver all the frames the GPU is capable of, unless your at the 144 FPS cap while it's at 70/80% or you have VSync capping you at 60.

what cpu do u have? its not wise to pair top end gpu with any ol cpu

Sorry I should have included my specs. I have a ryzen 7 1700 @ 4ghz, 16gb 3200mhrz gskillz ram, gtx 1080sc2, 27” 1440p 144hrz screen.
I’ve been told now that it’s because of the ♥♥♥♥ ryzen cpu. Would have Been better off getting the 8700k I guess. My frames will be at 144 then as soon as I turn to look around they drop too 100, in a city they bomb to as low as 60-70 at times.
