That CPU has Boost mode (overclocking) by default, which my cause sometimes a problems with PUBG when CPU is overheating.

Download AMD OverDrive.
Find "Turbo Core Control" Button in Performace Control / Clock Voltage.
Disable / Uncheck Turbo Core.

If it helps you will have to disable boost mode in BIOS or do above whenever you want to play PUBG.
There’s actually a lot u can do to get more FPS.
But I’m to lazy to write it all down 😂
Just add me on Steam, once I’m off work I will send u a few tipps to optimize fps
My Fx8350 works just fine the problem is not with that..

Cpu is overheating with stock boost? For sure not pubg's fault. its 100% a cooling problem if you cant handle 100% cpu load. Remove boost should not be an option.. right cooling should be..
RX580 and FX8350 gets me 65-70 fps on ultra. , buy more RAM, HDD or SSD? overclock your CPU manually.

I have 8350, all the other games work great, but in PUBG somehow it overheats even in base stock boost. I checked it on MSI afterburner graphs. After disabling default overclock I have even smother game/fps/temps. This is one solution, maybe im right maybe not. Let him try it first.
Well I can tell you its not down to your graphics card as I use the same card and run the game on high settings locked at a pretty much constant 60fps.
I used to have a fx8120 overclocked to 4.5Ghz, turbo disabled and some games just simply didn't perform well with it even if they were optimized for multiple cores, I believe in some cases its down to the relatively small amount of cache per core. Some people claim to actually improve fx cpu performance for some workloads by disabling cores.

As DieMoss mentions your cpu could be getting too hot and throttling down at times to cool itself down. In my experience with AMD cpu's the motherboard manufactures by default tend to set the voltage a little higher than the minimum needed, it could be worth seeing if you can lower the cpu voltage slightly while still maintaining stablity to reduce heat.

Also if you haven't already overclock that FX they love being OC'd.

I upgraded to AM4 Ryzen 1600 while keeping my rx480 8gb and the cpu's made the world of difference to how smooth games run.

lmao rx 580 is useless
AMD FX CPU's struggle to run on PUBG I suggest upgrading to a 3rd Gen i5 or Ryzen 1600. 3rd Gen i5 has better gaming performance over the Ryzen 1600 or you could go i5-8600k and future proof your PC.
that cpu is ancient even my i5 4690 strugged with it i had to upgrade 1600x

no its not
Friend has my old 8350 with a 980ti. Sees 100+ fps. Gotta take the shackles off amd cpu's. Annnd amd gpu's are sadly trash with direct x (i know, i know, DirectX is trash, also)

It's very true. Run an amd gpu in opengl and you'll want to throw your nvidia card out the window. Sadly $$ dominates the gaming industry
