Vertical mouse sensitivity fix

A bunch of people found out that vertical sensitivity is actually 70% of horizontal, people already figured that x and y sensitivity was off but they didn't know the exact values (test: try looking in the shape of a perfect square in game...you'll have to move the mouse up and down more than you do left and right.)

So.. as previously discussed pubg has a different vertical and horizontal sensitivity. Exactly, vertical sensitivity is 70% of the horizontal one (https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/forum/topic/607-playerunknowns-battlegrounds/?page=20&tab=comments#comment-13853) (it's discussed here too https://www.reddit.com/r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS/comments/85tfkp/vertical_sensitivity_correction/). We got use to it over a year but it's far from ideal and if you play different games your muscle memory can be screwed up. I opened a topic on the official forum to ask the devs for a solution with no response.. so here it is.

Go to your ini folder, it's located in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Open input.ini and copy this

[/script/engine.inputsettings] AxisMappings=(AxisName="Turn",Key=MouseX,Scale=1.000000) AxisMappings=(AxisName="LookUp",Key=MouseY,Scale=-1.428571) AxisMappings=(AxisName="WorldMapZoom",Key=MouseWheelAxis,Scale=1.000000)

save it and put it read only.

That's it. Horizontal and Vertical mouse movement will be the same (https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/forum/topic/607-playerunknowns-battlegrounds/?page=21&tab=comments#comment-14031).

Some keybinds may break (like wasd), you can just rebind them in the ingame menu (or put gameusersettings.ini as read only before launching the game).

EDIT: if you can't drag the map around , add this to input.ini

I tried this earlier today and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I still suck at the game but in fights I definitely notice my aim improve when spraying.

What this also means is that the AKM is no longer as bad as everyone thought...

Hopefully this gets pinned because it's a pretty glaring issue to be honest.

See, patching it up would require to probably update one of the .pak files, so everyone will cry about a 6gb update fixing a sensitivity bug

Ehm, no. They wouldn't need to make a 6gb pak file for JUST this fix bug.

And if people cry about big/daily updates... it's part of today's online gaming. It's what keeps their games fresh.

People aren't complaining about the frequency of updates; they're complaining about the size of them. Not everyone's got decent internet, and our government ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the NBN over so what was once hailed as the forefront of internet infrastructure by people and experts the world over is now generally regarded as a pos that will end up costing more than it already does. But why worry when you can just get taxpayer money to cover it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, the main issue with a lot of people is that patches that seem to change one or two little things end up being 24 MB or whatever, but let's remember again that this is Bluehole we're talking about here. As with anything, some of it can be attributed to naivete or ignorance as to how things work in the industry or for this particular game, other times it's genuine concern.

fyi, in case some dont know, the mouse sensitivity fix via input.ini is ok according to the devs.

and a dev said they will include a fix in the next patch.

Thats kinda confirmed to not be a reason for a ban this way.. is it?

Yet this is not a mere option file. While a lot is config.. changing recoil would also allow you to add 0.0000 to it right? so ofc its a bannable offence. Also there is always the question wether the lead designer for gunplay intended it to have a stronger recoil.. i dont think recoils behave the same irl.. yet logically in a shooter they should.

recoil itself is NOT directly attributed to this, vertical recoil control is though,

yeeees set it to 0 and enjoy the experience of not being able to look up and down lol
