Vertical mouse sensitivity fix
sauce

A bunch of people found out that vertical sensitivity is actually 70% of horizontal, people already figured that x and y sensitivity was off but they didn't know the exact values (test: try looking in the shape of a perfect square in game...you'll have to move the mouse up and down more than you do left and right.)

So.. as previously discussed pubg has a different vertical and horizontal sensitivity. Exactly, vertical sensitivity is 70% of the horizontal one (https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/forum/topic/607-playerunknowns-battlegrounds/?page=20&tab=comments#comment-13853) (it's discussed here too https://www.reddit.com/r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS/comments/85tfkp/vertical_sensitivity_correction/). We got use to it over a year but it's far from ideal and if you play different games your muscle memory can be screwed up. I opened a topic on the official forum to ask the devs for a solution with no response.. so here it is.

Go to your ini folder, it's located in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Open input.ini and copy this

[/script/engine.inputsettings] AxisMappings=(AxisName="Turn",Key=MouseX,Scale=1.000000) AxisMappings=(AxisName="LookUp",Key=MouseY,Scale=-1.428571) AxisMappings=(AxisName="WorldMapZoom",Key=MouseWheelAxis,Scale=1.000000)

save it and put it read only.

That's it. Horizontal and Vertical mouse movement will be the same (https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/forum/topic/607-playerunknowns-battlegrounds/?page=21&tab=comments#comment-14031).

Some keybinds may break (like wasd), you can just rebind them in the ingame menu (or put gameusersettings.ini as read only before launching the game).

Big thanks to Dpi Wizard.

EDIT: if you can't drag the map around , add this to input.ini

AxisMappings=(AxisName="UI_MapMoveX",Key=MouseX,Scale=1.000000) AxisMappings=(AxisName="UI_MapMoveY",Key=MouseY,Scale=-1.000000)

I tried this earlier today and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I still suck at the game but in fights I definitely notice my aim improve when spraying.

What this also means is that the AKM is no longer as bad as everyone thought...

Hopefully this gets pinned because it's a pretty glaring issue to be honest.

as a low sens player this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HELPS.

The silly thing is we shouldn't even have to do this. People shouldn't have to go this far out of their way to have equal vertical and horizontal sensitivity. And people shouldn't be afraid of getting banned for making a tweak to their game that fixes a glaring bug.

Doing this bug fix, can you imagine the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that'll follow? Countless threads on the PUBG forums asking if they'll get banned for changing their sensitivity through input.ini, amongst other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ threads. Articles on games news sites all over the place saying "PUBG PLAYERS GET BANNED FOR CHANGING CONFIGURATION SETTINGS."

10/10 passive aggressive smiley though

By that logic you should've been banned a long time ago since you've likely already changed the in game settings...which simply applies the changes to input.ini when you hit the apply button. Heck, since I did it way back in December, I'm still waiting to be banned 5 months later kek

EDIT: This misinformation that you get banned for ini files...which are literally just config settings you can edit anyway through the game, needs to die in a hole already. .ini files haven't been considered 'game files' for any anti cheat purpose in any game in the history of gaming. Bluehole has already clarified that editing game files to gain any kind of unfair advantage is against their TOS. Do you think bug fixes count as unfair advantages?

I feel like a lot of these people have only recently come from console gaming - I still remember when Halo 3 was at its prime, people associated modding with hacking due to console mods like JTAGs and whatnot, whereas PC mods refer to user made mods that can add new things and whatnot.

1000 keks, steam global moderators frequent these forums :), also im sure if screenshotted and sent in to bluehole will also get things like this some attention by thier mods and the devs.
Ed Apr 3, 2018 @ 11:28pm
Right, cuz they can police all the threads saying bluehole is gay and whatnot lmao but instead they go for a bugfix.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention friends! I'm talking to some of our team about this today. Will get someone from the Action & Gunplay team in here to talk about what we could do to help fix this in-game as well.

That's literally the 2nd top comment when sorted by best if you go onto that reddit post that I linked in OP. But please remember to screenshot it so they remember to fix this glaring bug.

chirp Apr 14, 2018 @ 4:16pm
nvm i found it
Hard2FindGoodID Apr 14, 2018 @ 4:16pm
is this bannable?
Last Shinobi Apr 14, 2018 @ 4:24pm
Well, if changing ini to fix what the devs should have done right a long time ago, doesn't get me banned, imma do this tomorrow.

I love the game but there's so much bs going on as well... pffff
