lol its the norm? Name 3 other games that sell 20 a skin on average? (and no i dont mean rare gun skins, stop trying to circumvent the argument)..puhlease you have no leg to stand on. and you tried to ignore
I think you mean, make smart decisions that positively affect the market much?
that part of my argument because you had no valid comeback because you know im right. Again, step it up, It feels like your trying less and less and that takes the fun out of it for me.
As much as I hate these skins, to be really fair, CS:GO has 500$ AWP skins.
What smart decision that positively effected the market did you make ? Because as far as I can tell, nothing you ever did effected the market one way or the other ;)
The skins are worth what people are willing to pay for them If they are not worth it then there wont be many sold. But fortnite has shown us what people ARE willing to pay for … this is just following that trend.
Every decision everyone makes affects the market.Just like everybody that picks up litter on the side of the road, or adds to it. Every bit counts and every bit makes a difference.
The smart decision i made is not to support bad gaming models like games that replace a progression system with mostly pay to open crates (pubg) or when devs dont pay enough attention to what actually needs fixed in their games over what will make them more money because greed (again pubg).
So by not buying into their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skins and extra whatnots i am doing my part to send the message that customers will not be taken advantage of for skins and each person that joins me is another little kink in the armor. All of these people add up to a force that at times can truly make a noticeable difference.
In doing this i have done my part in trying to help the gaming economy as a whole. Does it make more sense now?
"The skins are worth what people are willing to pay for them If they are not worth it then there wont be many sold. But fortnite has shown us what people ARE willing to pay for … this is just following that trend"
Things do not have worth objectively because somebody sees worth in them subjectively. Thats not how this works. People who smoke crack think crack is worth everything they own if they want it bad enough. That doesn't mean it is actually what it is worth.
inb4 crack and games arent the same.. Yes.,, yes i know.. its an anology. You compare two similar things but one on a larger scale to help show the affects being implemented within these two ideas. The idea is just because somebody wants something bad, doesnt mean its worth it. I want vagina more than i want 100 dollars right now, but it doesnt mean its worth that man.
And using the excuse "well its just following the trend" is not an ok one. thats the same as some kid who does something he shouldnt and then turns and points at his friends and says "well they did it first". Its childish, and wrong.
No you have made a very dumb decision that is based in ignorance.
PUBG Corp have not had a big meeting and said
OK Dev team, I want you to all focus on making new skins and crates, and new ways to sell them to our customer s.. chop chop !!!
No what has happened is in fact almos the opposite of that, they have spent more and more money hiring people that CAN work on optimisations etc because .. guess what .. artists don't make the best code monkeys ..
So what they have done is ensure that they have a revenue stream coming in so that they can hire more coders to do the important work that they are focused on right now. Which is performance and anti cheat as they announced. The crates are important to generate that revenue, a one of payment of 30 bucks is not going to keep a company of over 130 people afloat for long.
unlikely that you are a kink at all, you are the expected other half of the equation.
I mean they could have just said, no if you want server access you are going to need to subscribe guys and been taking mney from you ANYWAY and you not getting anything at all from it other than access to the servers. would you prefer that ?
Or how about you get to buy air drops … like a personal air drop .. would that work for you ??
Or they could have an OPT IN cosmetic only skin market that has proven to be a workable and satisfactory solution for both developers and customers in games like CSGO which PUBG has already said they would love to have longevity like CS.
No it makes less sense now
No that's EXACTLY how it works, worth IS subjective a bottle of evian might mean nothing to an obese American who is just pulling out of the McDonalds drive through with his supersized coke, but it could be the difference between life and death for a homeless child on the streets of Serbia.
If you pay for vagina thats your call man, personally I would rather jack off than pay for a hooker but more power to you, you are helping keep up the oldest trade industry in history.
Thers a lot of trends it could have followed, giving people the option to buy something or not is probably the least offensive one ;)
"OK Dev team, I want you to all focus on making new skins and crates, and new ways to sell them to our customer s.. chop chop"
And you know this because? You can read minds, or?
"So what they have done is ensure that they have a revenue stream coming"
Lmao implying they arent already well above the black line. (which is business talk for have plenty of spendable cash)., Yeah,. ok. sure.
"unlikely that you are a kink at all, you are the expected other half of the equation.

except no they couldnt because name one BR game that subscribes to a monthly pay model for service. You cant because they dont exist. The model isnt really effective because people arent as invested playing everyday like in rpgs so more and more would just choose not to lose the money on the sub.
Naming ideas that are worse than what they are currently doing doesnt make them better for not using those ideas. Thats not how logic works. I cant say, well at least EA doesnt charge 3 times for the same game at face value price and that makes them ok now. lol
"No it makes less sense now"
I literally cannot make it simpler. Im sorry. I tried. Agree to disagree and move on if your still not getting it. At least i can say i understand the other side of the argument and how it doesnt work properly, where as you seem to not understand at all. I guess its to be expected.
"No that's EXACTLY how it works, worth IS subjective a bottle of evian might mean nothing to an obese American who is just pulling out of the McDonalds drive through with his supersized coke, but it could be the difference between life and death for a homeless child on the streets of Serbia."
Except objectivity and subjectivity exist, so the person that wants that water bottle alot may be sitting next to someone who does not want it at all. does that mean it has both the worth of nothing and the worth of something? Lol no, it still has an objective total worth as an object by volumn or mass or substance. For instance gold would be worth something even if somebody you know didnt want it because the world economy still adheres to gold standard. See? Simple. As long as objective reality exists to contrast the worth against, then subjectivity isnt worth much. Because supply and demand only works when there is a demand great enough across a great enough number of people to make sales viable. Sure you could sell one crack rock to somebody desperate for 100 dollars but youll never make that sale again and will have to adjust prices going forward. Because objectively, the crack is only worth so much, and smarter people will realise that. Now replace crack with games and the metaphor works perfectly here. Just because somebody is willing to bend over backwards for a specific item doesnt mean that its worth that much across the board to everybody. And the less people that want it, the less total objective value it has.
These are actually pretty complicated economic things that i learned in college so if some of this confuses you im not surprised.
"If you pay for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thats your call man, personally I would rather jack off than pay for a hooker but more power to you, you are helping keep up the oldest trade industry in history."
This is completely ignoring the point i made and we both know it. weak sauce, step it up.
"Thers a lot of trends it could have followed, giving people the option to buy something or not is probably the least offensive one ;)"
Not by far, creating a seperate progression system and then a crate system outside of that would have been a better option and i came up with that in less than 5 seconds. Somehow i feel like there are better options out there if you think it through.
