HyperX Cloud II

So I got my hands on my new headset, which is the HyperX Cloud II. After many hours of watching comparisons and reading other people's take on the HyperX Cloud II. I have read that many PUBG players use this headset and that they could hear from miles away! Fantastic right? Well for me, I still can't hear a good amount of footsteps, should I have 7.1 Surround sound turned on or use the regular Stereo option? Is there any software that I need to setup to enhance the audio quality? And should I connect my headset using the Audio jacks or the USB? If anyone here has a HyperX Cloud II please tell me your experience with it and if you tweaked it.

Edit: Don't know if anyone wants to know, but I had the Logitech G230 before.

i have the same, love them. my friend has them too, he says dont use 7.1. i personally find 7.1 better. the thing is, pubg's audio system is really stupid. id suggest just turn up your audio and be really observant with your eyes and ready. best advice i can give

The everything in this game is garbage, just played with FPS at 60 on OSD and stutter like crazy caused by network lag which was not my connection.

The HyperX Cloud II is good actually. This game's audio is just f*cked like most other people are saying. I have the Cloud II and I tried this game with 7.1 surround sound and it's just f*cked, it's hard to tell where footsteps and gunshots are coming from and doesn't seem accurate most of the time, so I just use stereo. If you're playing games like CS:GO then 7.1 surround sound will work since the game supports 7.1, and it should considering it's a well known competitive shooter.

Possibly buy a better soundcard. Creative Sound Blaster Z PCIe Gaming Sound Card is the card I'm using which has a 600Ohm headphone amplifier and does everything I need it to. I run BeyerDynamics DT770s 80Ohms headphones with it which I equalise for preference. The sound card will cost you around £60-70.

I'm really happy with this setup.

If you have an equalizer setting on your current sound board you should turn up 2k 4k and 8k this gave me a massive boost to hearing footsteps.

I agree with you the headphones are really good and this games sound system is pretty crap however the headphones you're using only has two speakers. What your headphones is actually using is virtual surround sound built into it. Any stereo headset can do this by using software.

I have the HyperX Cloud Revolver and use my Soundblaster z card to give me virtual surround.

7.1 supported headset has the 7.1 built into the chipset in the headset though.

If you do it in software, it is not as good as there is a delay getting the signal, virtualising it, sending it back to the headset.
