Solo, Duo, 3 man squad, and Squad
So I understand the team selections just fine but why when I select duo, with a friend, we are seeing teams of three and four? Seems a bit overkill to throw two guys into squad matches. Are they supposed to be only a team of two? If so, I guess report em?

1. Solo (alone, matched against other solo players)
2. Duo (you and a friend or you and a random player, matched against other duos)
3. 1, 2 or 3 Man Squad (Your party joins as a closed squad, matched against other squads of 1-4 players)
4. Squad (You or your party joins as an open squad and fills to 4 players, matched against other squads of 1-4 players)

There is no "3 man squad"

Just Solo, Duo, Squad and 1 man squad.

yes there is, if you party up with 2 other people you have the option of 3 man squad

Any mm queue that says squad at the end is simply a (4) squad match which prevents randoms from joining your team. If you want to play duo's dont choose the 2-man squad selection just pick duos. Unfortunately, there is no triplets gamemode, so 3-man squads will always be groups of 3 vs full 4 player squads

Ya, but you're just starting in 4 man squads, down 1 player. Kinda dumb.

not much different than having a random who wants to drop school even though you all selected a different area, and he drops there anyway and dies ... we have won aplenty of 3 man squad games.

Exactly, I don't get why that's so hard for some people to grasp that concept. 1,2 or 3 man squad just means matchmaking with randoms is disabled, you'll still play with others in 4 man squads.
