PUBG PC reboot issues?
Hi All,

Recently while playing PUBG my pc will randomly shutdown and restart, have anyone playing PUBG experienced the same issue? I did some googling and found other gamers having the same issue, with some saying it is PSU or heat related. I can confidently this is not the issue in my case. I have no issues while playing any other game. I stress tested my system for MAX heat and MAX power draw using PRIME95 and FURMARK...no shutdowns !

I have also noticed now and again while running my character will stop and I will have to re-press the keys to get going , this never happens in any other game.

PC Specs :

CPU : Intel i7 4790 ( with CM TX3 Evo) - max temp under PRIME95 is +-70C
GPU : MSI AMD RX580 Armor 4G OCed to 1450/2000 from 1366/1750 - MAX temp running FURMARK is +-67C with custom fan profile.
PSU - Corsair CX500 ( never had issues - I know people dont like this PSU but it has served me fine
MEM : 8GB
MB : Gigabyte H81M-DS2
I have enough cooling in my case ( 2x 120mm front inlet fans , 1x 120mm back exhaust , 2x
120mm top exhaust fans - so heat in the case is not really an issue.

Regards

people dont like your psu because its probably maxed out when you play games.. your CPU and GPU at max load alone are enough to max your psu.. and then you add hdd's and ram and youve got a real power issue..

i would not be suprised if your PSU blows up at some point if your running it above 80% capacity for long periods of time

I run more power intensive games and apps and ONLY PUGB restarts my pc, so please dont tell me it is PSU related.

If your pc is physically restarting without a bsod or crash report you can pretty well be sure its a hardware issue. Something is on the way out....

download OCCT and test power supply to be sure it's not your psu

I used OCCT , no restarts. PC ONLY rebooted when playing PUBG. I reloaded windows and the issue seems to be gone. Maybe a corrupt file in Windows that was only used while playing PUBG? Who knows....atleast it has not happend again.....touch wood.

On the official Board there are Threads about this issue.I´ll post you one with a solution but it´s kinda work. But the "rebooting" issue isn´t that uncommon.

How did you solve this problem? It didn't happen again? Even now, in 2022, pubg does the same with my computer.

Did you the stress test already by using OCCT?

I've already tried every possible advice EXCEPT completely replacing the power supply... Are there any system tweaks that could fix this? It started spontaneously about a month ago and since then the computer turns off completely randomly only when playing PUBG

Before I would change the psu, except you have some others there around to test it, I would reinstall Windows clean.

It doesn't sound like Windows issue in the first sense but before I touch the the hardware I would try all way on the software side.

Reinstalling Windows is the most useful thing to fix problems but also the most complex one.

Yeah ... I just thought maybe there is an easy way to solve this problem, but apparently this will not work and something serious needs to be done

Did you check your temperatures and stuff?

Cleaning the pc is very necessary and many don't do it.
