Yeah social conditioning might be the answer, gender roles and all that, men get sent off to war typically, historically at least, and still in most countries, hell even in countries with mandatory service the women tend to do paperwork (or so I've heard from Hila on the H3H3 podcast, citation needed for facts).
Women are the majority in Match 3's and Family/Farm Sim games, and that's it, men are the rest.

Nearly 1000 hours in this game, I've seen (heard) less than a dozen females, and I've mostly played random squads.
The first team killed me because I "dropped on HER building"... That isn't a thing, we marked an area and we happened to land on the same building, do people seriously think that is an offense, let alone a team-killable thing? Then she went and teamkilled a random asian guy that didn't speak English (as far as I know), then she got teamkilled by the last guy who was like "wot r u doin?".
(/rant)
A few Korean and Chinese human females, they were all cool, did okay, etc.
Then one other English speaking female- Story time again. One of the random english speaking teammates was like "are you guys good or (r-words) like my last team?"- To which she responded "please dont use that word", to which she was greeted by laughter and "oh boy".
Which I dunno if that's one of the reasons why human females don't play these sort of games, they "can't handle the heat", or they just have better morals then males of the species, or, as some feminist would tell me "are the same as guys and it was just a fluke that one of the two english speaking women I've met were instantly outraged by language and its just a fluke that the thousands of guys I've played with have never been outraged by anything ever".
Yeah I dunno, some people are in denial that men and women think differently, and its not that our brains are different or whatever garbage people come out with- It's again, the product of social conditioning, we become what the world makes us. I wonder if there was a population of humans with nobody of the opposite gender, would we all fall in love with each other? Are we just products of our environment or are we driven by our genetic code??
TUNE IN NEXT WEEK TO FIND OUT, ON BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY!
Women ARE wired differently though. My girlfriends just don't find gaming to be fun. They would rather drink some wine and watch a TV show as we laugh and talk together. Women want interactions and love to talk. Gaming doesn't give them that. It's not relaxing to them, which I see their point sometimes.
Plus, you need to see it from their point of view. They get up in the morning with the kids, get kids dressed, get self dressed, make breakfast, make lunch for backpacks, sign all the stupid folders, get kids in car, drop off kids at school/ daycare, go to work, work for 9 hours, pick up kids, come home to clean up from breakfast, start cooking dinner, we never get to sit down to actually eat the fing dinner we make, help with homework, give baths, brush teeth, get in pjs, bed time routine, all to see the husbands... playing games. "Hey, can you give me a hand with this?" "I can't pause it, but I'll help after this match." *40 minutes later...* Even as an avid gamer myself, I cannot express how angry I have gotten with my husband playing games and ignoring me/ his children. Women start seeing it as a terrible addiction and start hating the concept. So why would they even want to try something they have learned to hate? Just a different POV to look at. It's not society turning women away, it's experience.
That's the reason I don't wanna talk in squads with randoms.
I just play PUBG with my boyfriend and some friends of him. (sorry for my bad English)
Obviously I do suck it up and just play. Someone asked a question and I answered it.
