Network Lag Detected Fix
I have been getting the dreaded "NETWORK LAG DETECTED" message for the past few days and it's been awful.

I'm playing on Wi-Fi because my router is too far away for a wired connection, but after setting up a DMZ with my PC's IP on my NetGear router's settings, that problem has finally gone away. So, try that. Look up how to set up a DMZ for your router with your PC's IP and see if that helps. It might help even if you're wired or on Wi-Fi.

Hope that helps.

I have a NetGear R6700 "Nighthawk" router.

I have the 7800, I still see it, although mine is typically brief. Message is coming from the servers, while it can be because of someones router settings/setup most of the time it's a issue with the server.
Im on a wired connection. You don't need to use DMZ, you likely have the routers firewall on aka NAT Filtering. Set that to open should take care of things. It wont stop it all the time but you should get the issue a lot less.
If the dmz is helping you out then that means you likely have ports being blocked. There are a few other settings that are with the dmz settings that you can disable that may help you.

Better fix found today. Also fixes Discord random muting (if you're using a netgear router). https://forums.playbattlegrounds.com/topic/46494-pubg-network-lag-detected-i-cant-complete-any-game/?do=findComment&comment=258466
Damn yeah, try that if anyone else still has an issue with this damn bug.

STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO SET UP DMZ. It isn't safe.

Ive used dmz for 5 yrs at one point, never ever had a security issue. it's safe. stop listening to the freaking paranoids.
Why is it unsafe? I'm just letting people know how to fix a problem that others are encountering, so if setting up a DMZ is risky, then that's up to them to decide to do it or not.

QoS isnt needed and can actually give you less performance in terms of internet speed/quality. 6220 is a low end router to begin with.
I wouldnt call it a better fix, also as I ahve said before, there are other settings in netgear routers that should be off when doing online gaming.

Because you probably weren't affected. It's not one of those situations where you are constantly going to be bombarded with security threats, but when it happens you will be screwed royally, especially if you don't have a firewall properly set up on the computer that you setup for DMZ.

Just because you weren't affected doesn't mean somebody else can try and breach your network. There's a reason most people suggest NOT turning on DMZ. Because most people are too lazy to adjust their firewall to patch the holes that DMZ leaves open. You're effectively turning off the router's firewall for your PC.

It opens up all ports to the outside so its exposed to the outside world sorta speak, so it is unsecured but its rarely a issue. Sure there's a risk but there's a risk just going online also. People are just paranoid a lil too much these days.

Putting your entire personal system in the DMZ in your router is a major security risk.

When you use a NAT router you are in effect using the main feature of a firewall that prevents data from unknown sources initiating traffic to you without your permission. When you use DMZ you pretty much have turned off that "firewall" and need to replace as much of it as possible....

The main reason a DMZ is not safe is people are lazy. The NAT protects them without them knowing anything. Once you turn that off you must learn how networks really work...ie what are ports numbers what are ip addresses etc etc. Most people just scream....i wanna play my game... and pretend there are no bad people on the internet.

DMZ is not a issue. If someone is hacking or breaching you, its because you have something they want. No one cares about us gamers. We are small fries with nothing, no one is trying to get you. It's all in your head.

LOL firewall is not off, you just have the ports more exposed to the outside is all. It's in front of the firewall instead of behind it. Again everything on the net is a risk. If you want to properly game, some of this security aka firewalls do not need to be on, at least not while gaming. I don't use them and have never had a issue in over 20 yrs gaming.

That's the thing, when you post a solution like this, you're opening the floodgates for everyone to just go and screw up their network security. Most people who will read your post

  1. Don't even know there is a risk because you're not telling them there is.
  2. Are too lazy and only want to play their games, not worry about security.

wtf are you smoking. I have said several times there is a risk. can you not read? everything with the net is a risk.
people are too stupid to read and are way to paranoid. security is a joke to begin with. I suggest you learn more about routers and what some of these features DONT really do. they cause more issues than you obviously know.
