get banned by using macro?

, my brother said his account have been ban for something and recieved email from steam that tell him using programable mouse with 0.0500 MS ?

Is it really okay to use? or ......

Since this is necro'd again, I'll just let all yall know that you can bind firing to mouse scroll, and if you're using some mouse with free-spinning wheel, you've got hardware level "macro" right there. G502 can empty a few clips before shooting speed starts slowing down. What do you say about that, since it's not simulated string of keypresses as per macro definition, it's effortless mechanical activating of the switch at high velocity?

Yes you can get banned for it but chances of getting banned are slim, Never heard of anyone getting banned for one on anygame other than a game like starcraft where APS matters.

On a side note what should be banned is logitech lua macros. Look it up yourself you can program your own No Recoil Lua script and have it undetected in LGS just search "logitech lua" and maybe "no recoil" in google and you will find lots.
