Why don't streamers just play with a stream delay?
Or do they just want an excuse to blame a stream sniper if they die?

its been shown that having a delay on a stream is not actually any less engaging. with the way the game is set up a 5 min or 10 min delay would not in any way hurt the stream and would be long enough to make the player unpredictable in a fast pace survival shooter like this. unless the streamer is camping spots for more than 10+ min.

Streamers aren't streaming to the public, streamers are streaming to people who are abiding by the terms of the streaming service.

Do I need to copy paste that line another 20 times?

It's an audience and accessible to all, therefore the public .

"Violating our community guidelines may lead to the suspension of your account and access to our services"

Just like stalking a sports player to all their 'public' games and blasting a megaphone.. and arguing that it's a public event.. a tad bit moronic, and we can all see right through it.. and we cheer and clap when the troll is escorted out. Enjoy the timeouts, trolls. When you're ready to play by the rules like the rest of the people, you won't get them anymore and won't have reason to complain about how unfair it is you can't stalk and harass and troll. Maybe instead of timeouts or bans on stream snipers, their players should be given an outline disadvantage glowing beacon of shame dunce cap that shows for all players their current location for a few weeks.. that seems appropriate, or maybe just turn those temp couple day timeouts into permabans.. no sympathy, no mercy.. you broke the rules to two services.. your use of them agrees to their ability to discontinue your use for breaking the terms.. your loss.. goodbye.. but then there might actually be some legitimate concern for 'innocent people' who coincidentally disconnect/reconnect multiple times for whatever reason and always go straight to the streamer for whatever mathematically might as well be impossible probability reasons.. but that would be once in quadrillions of years kind of event.. and that's not what's happening nor what is in need of 'solving' .. not much concern except an irrational phobia of the report button.. and that irrational phobia is by no means justification to change the rules in favor of enabling trolling. Last I checked, the playerbase isn't <20 due to all the streamers reporting all the players and getting them permabanned as the rumors go. Last I checked, who cares about the stream sniping rules except people who intend on stream sniping or who have a phobia? Who cares about the harassment rules except people who intend on harassing or who have a phobia of the report button?

Those of us who care about the game being enjoyable for others, not solely ourselves at an unfair expense upon others.. are in favor of rules.. for the quality of the game.. not for the self-seeking pleasures of trolls who "feel" like the rule against them abusing services is unfair.

No, what you are describing is not "caring about others". You're throwing people under the bus just so that you can have a better time in the game. Myself and others have already explained how it is extremely easy for them to accidentally ban someone who did nothing wrong, and yet you simply don't seem to care. You'd rather that 20 innocent players get their game taken away from them, just so that you can catch that 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you dislike.

Isn't that what all the rule breakers are doing? Ruining other's experience for their own personal enjoyment? If that's what you want to do, you're already playing the right game you just need to play fair and not cheat and legitimately knock opponents out of the match.

Sorry, I must have missed that or may have been unpersuaded by a bunch of speculative bs.

How many innocent players are hopping session to session only to match sessions with a streamer who notices them multiple times in a day and reports them? How often have DrDisrespect and Summit1G encountered each other in game over the course of the game's lifetime? If an "innocent player" encounters a streamer 2-3 times that figure in the course of a single day.. and the server logs show repeated disconnects/reconnects.. well.. how innocent are they? Especially when they make the laughable claims that they got banned for stream sniping (despite the game not showing the reason for their ban) and that they didn't even know what streaming is, etc. They play it off as though they were innocent, they make it out as though innocent players get permabans and it's a high likelihood of happening, then they admit guilt.. are you one of those?

I find it humorously interesting that, to the best of my knowledge, only about 20 people have punished for stream sniping anyway..? Very small number as compared to those who were reported or very insignificantly small compared to the number who play abiding by the rules. I find it very very unlikely that an innocent person would get banned, and even if it were to occur there's an appeals process for that very unlikely scenario.. as well as the fact that it wouldn't be a permaban, just a temp suspension. I guess you could argue that players could get accidentally punished for teamkilling when their finger slips and they kill their teammates too frequently.. by suggesting that teamkillers not be punished, that behavior should be allowed, etc.

Again, you are using a a completely different form of harrassment to justify this. Teamkilling is an act that doesn't require ill-intent. Technically you are breaking the rules by killing teammates, and they don't have to give you second or third chances. They usually do, but it's easy to see when someone is doing it on purpose. If a player is killing more teammates then enemies, it's extremely likely that they're team killing. Also, the punishment is far less severe. You're simply kicked out the lobby.

It isn't speculative, it is fact. Many fans of streamers or youtubers try to find games with their favorite celebrities when they know that they are streaming. This is fact. Many of these fans don't wish to cheat or harrass the streamers they seek out. This is also a fact. This means that unless you can find proof that points to these players finding games to expressly cheat or harass these streamers, instead of just playing a harmless game with them, you don't have proof of stream sniping. This is fact.

Just because there might or might not have been a small amount doesn't make this any less of a despicable act on Bluehole's part.

So you admit that stream sniping is a form of harassment.

You then proceed from here to argue that stream sniping is an act that doesn't require ill-intent..

Technically you are breaking the rules by stream sniping, and the streamers you kill don't have to give you second or third chances.. and probably won't if they notice your name 10+ times a day.

Yet you've been arguing that it's not easy to see when someone is stream sniping on purpose.

If a player is killing more teammates then enemies, it's extremely likely that they're team killing.

If a player hops sessions and rushes to a streamer multiple times, it's extremely unlikely that they're doing anything but stream sniping.

Also, the punishment is far less severe. You're simply kicked out the lobby.

I thought it was a 3 day to week long ban? Maybe you get kicked to lobby if reported, but then get your timeout if evidence doesn't show in your favor.

You sure repeat "this is fact" a lot when talking a lot of rubbish. If the stream snipers "don't wish to cheat or harass the streamers" then they shouldn't fear being reported by said streamers.. and yet, when the streamer reports them.. obviously the streamer had a problem with what their 'fans' (trolls, rule breaking invasive broadcast/game disrupters) were up to.

How about this simple proposal. Just .. Don't .. Stream .. Snipe ..

Just because there might or might not have been a small amount doesn't make this any less of a despicable act on Bluehole's part.

I find attempting to argue that 'the removal of rulebreaking trolls who bother other gamers' as a despicable act .. to itself be a despicable act. So what are you on about, exactly? So if only a small amount of players have gotten temp bans, where is all the need for a phobic uproar panic over something that is about a 1 in a million chance IF you are one of the 1 in a million LOSERS who can't abide by rules and insist on breaking them then whining about it?

A despicable act on Bluehole's part would be if actual innocent non-stream snipers were caught up willy nilly as is claimed, and were permabanned.. as seems to be the desired push objective you're working towards (near begging?) .. If they're a stream sniper who appears in the reporting streamers' games more times in one day than Summit1G and DrDisrespect meet each other ingame in a year.. I propose permabans from here on out. Be happy with what you've got.. I won't cry when stream snipers start getting real bans.

Shroud is a babe
Hard to prove stream sniping but the chances of getting killed by the same person 5 times in 5 concurrent sessions by coincidence is virtually zero. That said, streamers are at fault for broadcasting their location.

that combined with leaving and joining for multiple lobbies until you stop at one

If there were a way to prove that someone is stream-sniping, this wouldn't be an issue. But I'm still waiting for you to show me this proof. Because simply joining a game with a streamer isn't against the rules.

You do know they can track player's location on the map throughout the game right?
