Is the improvement of SSD over HDD worth it?
I only use mine for the OS. Not sure if I should make the exception for this game.

SSD is faster then a HDD, i never said there's a problem with loading times with a HDD, i simply said with a SSD its much faster. HDD won't give you problems with loading, i never said that. Just that its faster. You're arguing over nothing mate.

well the first part isn't is it? and the second part is also true, HDD is slow and horrible for loading times VS SSD. What's their to argue? its a proven fact.
I play loads of games on HDD and have no problem with loading times.
"Bottleneck" my ass...sorry but you make a problem out of nothing.
And an ssd for pubg won't make much difference. I have it on ssd and a friend had it on hdd....and guess what? The only difference was that I got into the waiting lobby a few seconds earlier.

Use your ssd, loads game faster and better landing fps, u can move the files no redownload needed

That's false.
I've tested it on my ssd and hdd and the only thing that's different is that when you start the game from your desktop then it will load a little bit faster. And also you'll load into the game lobby a bit faster. That's on an ssd.
After that nothing is different. FPS is not better when you land. I did a few games to test.

and i gather you've tested every different ram type cpu motherboard and gpu to come to this conslusion that everyones is the exact same as yours? thought not.

you dont have more fps with ssd, load times are shorter, microshuttering is less.

this is the last time i post this, ive done extensive testing, as have many tech youtubers, a HDD WILL NOT decrease FPS....

A HDD will ..... increase time it takes to load textures in swap information in and out, as well as increase the overall choppiness......

this is more evident by the speed and cache of the HDD (ie, 5900rpm 16mb....32mb.....7200rpm 64mb...ect)

A SSD alieviates(spelling) all this because its much faster in how it handles all of it, however it WILL NOT INCREASE FPS..... just improve the overall feel of it....

if your SSD is the OS drive, dont worry to much about switching game to the SSD.... as the SSD is already handling all the caching in windows

if you have no SSD....get a SSD...

also, system memory, and video memory play a heavy role in all of this....

and now i unsubscribe from this cause of the incoming 'your wrong' from the less informed that simply dont know how to monitor their system resources and identify bottlenecks.....

ALT+CTRL+DEL

performance tab

lower left, OPEN RESOURCE MONITOR

filter by TSLGAME.EXE

This isnt about how it IMPROVES FPS....

THIS IS ABOUT HOW IT HELPS WITH RENDERING BUILDINGS>

i wouldn't use a system or play games without a SSD, why use a HDD that bottlenecks your system?

Yeah the OP obviously listed his specs and so did you for me to compare , right?
And yeah of course I'll go and buy every type to test xD
Good joke "mate". British sarcasm really is retarded.

PS
There, I'll give you my sepcs just to not be a ♥♥♥♥ like you:
-i7 4790k
-16gb ram
-gtx970
And the hdd i tried it on was 5400rpm and the building rendering was same as with an ssd. Only diference was that teh game loaded me into lobbies a few seconds faster.
So there ya go , you can test all the other types of motherboards , cpus and gpus. Good luck.

Bye.

Moving PUBG to my SSD fixed the textures not loading after landing. So if you have that problem I would recommend it 100%.
