PUBG Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item
Today i was unable to join any games. The game would kick me and telling me that BE service is not running.

The error message is: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

When i go to the binaries and launch pubg as admin, the game launches but the UI wont load. I can enter the settings, refresh the UI (which does nothing) and close the game.

tried:

-Restart steam
-Removing all launch options
-Restart PC
-Verify game integrity
-Update graphics driver
-Check for windows updates
-Reinstall battle eye services
-Reinstall the game
-Reinstall vcredist
-Disable anti-virus and firewall

OS: Windows 10 Home

CPU: I7- 7800X

GPU: Asus 1070 OC

MB: Asus 299x e-gaming

16 GB Corsair

I restarted steam by closing it on task manager and reopened it, pubg started fine after that.

Hi guys, i too have been having the same issue and i have found 2 solutions if you haven't already found it.

1. If you are using Bullguard anti-virus all you need to do is to uncheck "Allow bullguard to protect its components against termination" this is located in the advanced settings. once you have unchecked it run PUBG as admin. and it should work.

2. If you have bullguard, but use a different antivirus software (like me). just uninstall it.

Where do i find this? (Im using number 1)
open bullguard, top right where it says 'settings', then on the left click 'main'. uncheck the 5th box down that says 'Allow BullGuard to protect it's components against termination'

I had the same problem and for solution was to launch the non battle-eye executable as administrator in the pubg directory. to do that go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Binaries\Win64 and launch tlsgame as admin instead tlsgame_BE

I have the same issue, I don't have any anti-virus, when I try to run the game as administrator from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Binaries\Win64 TslGame it starts, but the Lobby UI doesn't load, and it gives me the PubG splash screen, when I hit Esc it brings the menu > tried to reset all settings to default, it didn't work, the UI won't load. I've tried to also adjust the security permissions of the folder to allow full control, nothing happens. it's really frustrating! :(

i have the same problem, but me i d'ont have Bullguard, I tried each of the solutions but it's doesen't work, i have this problem since i have the game and i never managed to play it.
please help me

Close all Antivirus programms and any other programm what is running on your system. In my case it was the Bullguard. Also maybe reinstall the game.

Hi guys, i have found a fix for it, you just have to reinstall windows w/usb from microsoft page (media creation tool). This method worked for me and my friend. My friend had tryied everything, from checking game files,reinstalling and giving access to everyone on the pc +etc. Final problem turned out to be battleye not working properly on the windows version, and only needed to be reinstalled
