Fix/Workaround to stop crashing for AMD GPU users

I got the crashes to stop by deleting the BattleEye folder located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Binaries\Win64\BattlEye

(or you can just delete the files inside it)

After that, I verify the integrity of the game files, by right-clicking PUBG, then "Properties", "Local Files" tab, then "Verify Integrity of Game Files" button.
It will download the 6 files that are inside the Battle Eye folder you've just deleted.
I do it after every round just in case. I'd rather spend 2 minutes doing that, than risking having a crash mid-game.
Of course. you have to close the game before doing that.

I also created a batch file, so I don't have to manually delete the files every time.
You can do so by opening NOTEPAD and copy/paste the following text:

@echo off
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Binaries\Win64\BattlEye
del *.exe
del *.dll
del *.ini
del *.bat
del *.txt

Then, save it wherever you want, with any name you want. But you have to save it as .bat not .txt
After that, you can simple double click that .bat file and it will delete the 6 files inside the BattleEye folder, everytime you need to.
You will still have to verify the files manually like I mentioned before.

Hope it works for you too!

If someone wants to try how long this works before having to delete/verify the files, let me know.

EDIT:

Before doing this, first I updated my GPU (RX580) drivers to the latest and installed all the WIndows updates I had pending. Not sure if that contribute to fixing the crashes, though.

Don't know exactly. However, when you verify the game files, you are downloading the official files again.
So, when you run the game, you're not missing anything.
I don't know if these files stack up info/logs/cache or whatever, because I could play normally for a few hours after I downloaded the last PUBG update. Then I started having the crashes.
Maybe, when you delete/download these files, it gets rid of that (presumable) stacked up info.

To tell you the truth, I'm just guessing. But, well, it's working for me.

probably more in the lines of something in the update messed up code and created a problem or the latest driver just confilcts with their coding.

I commend you for making an effort to help people fix this mess. However, even though it seems easy enough I won't be trying to fix it with this method. I think its ridiculous that the Dev team is basically relying on the players (the ones that keep them in buisness) to try and solve this. If they patch it, then I will be able to play again, if not well there are plenty other games out there. Once again thanks for the information though.

There are a million different possibilities that can cause a conflict that causes the game to crash from the various system configurations, software ect, it's not like they can just a snap their fingers and duplicate it.. Have some patients or just go play something else, EA isn't for everyone.

I agree with you and I'm not in any hurry to jump back into the game. Sure I want to play but I know there things take time. Even though its been 2 plus days now and no word from the Dev team, I still just go about my day and hope it gets fixed. If and when they find the problem, I'm sure it will be addressed.

I hate to throw this out there but this is nothing new for alot, not all but alot of AMD GPU users, they've always had issues to this nature even back to the ATI days especially with new games.

So I used the uninstaller bat, deleted the folder, RESTARTED THE COMPUTER, verified game files, started the game, and I was able to get one game to 18 alive (about 25 minutes) but then the next game it crashed less than 30 seconds after landing in the parachute. I quit this pile of crap alpha game.

Shoot. So, I guess it does not work for very long. I was afraid of that and that's why I keep doing in after every round (but, I do not restart my computer, though).

revert your driver back to working one? assuming it amd, then 17.7.2

Their testing systems consist of a fleet of i7 7700K's and 1080ti's with 32GB ram. Thats it. nVidia was asked to come in house to help them optimize the game. Clearly its working.

hi Bulitt, i tried to reset global setting under radeon setting and not using frame rate target control.
close the free sync. delete pubg game profile under Radeon setting. had few games including some long ones and it didn't crash for me. also in other thread there are people saying disable pubg game profile under Radeon setting works . for my case i just competely removed it and reset the global setting. i also disable steam overlay too.
