hmm .. this bench using a STOCK 7700k with 3000Mhz RAM .. the 7700k EASILY goes to 5Ghz also keep that in mind..
Am i an intel "fanboy"? No. do i prefer it for GAMING, YES. ive got plenty of years experience as well..
one of many benchmarks

intel beats amd in benchmarks, also not sure why you keep bringing up ram speed, ram speed hardly effects anything, might see a tiny tiny boost in benchmarks but nothing obvious in usage during gaming or anything.
They are garbage in general.
For now I'll just play a little with my 40 fps lock on my 120hz monitor :p.
you can wait but the 1080 and 1080ti are very good on this game, atleast paired with a good cpu and ram, also assuming game installed on ssd and a good internet with low ping.
Who care about differences of ~20 fps in 100+ frame rates? If someone like me uses 60 Hz monitor, every single FPS over 60 FPS is just too much and overlapping the pictures. That's why i use cap limit of 60 fps ;) And i can play smooth.
@threadstarter:
With Ryzen 5, 16 GB RAM and any 1060/1070/1080 you'll have very solid built power machine. You should be able to play many games around of 100 FPS easily. PUBG hasn't been optimized yet that i won't focus on any too expensive hardware to reach any 120 fps. Power and performance is not everything. Keep your eyes on the prizes also. And don't forget that the GPU's are overprized currently because of the BitCoin farming ;)
True, bit if I can't get a locked 120 fps the upgrade doesn't really seem worth it. 1000 Eu to go from 40 to 60 fps.
I might however try something like this. https://nl.aliexpress.com/store/product/EXP-GDC-PCI-E-V9-5-Laptop-External-Independent-Graphics-Card-Dock-Laptop-Docking-Station-M/1048722_32801206514.html.
That might make the 40 to 60 fps worth it as I won't have to buy a gtx 1080 or better nor a whole gaming pc. I think a 1060 and a psu will do.
I have a GTX 960 and can't run this game higher than 25 FPS at the lowest settings. But a buddy of mine has a GTX 780 and gets an easy 60 FPS on highest settings.
I achieve 140FPS on ULTRA
Intel has and always will have better single core performance. On core heavy tasks, AMD will win due to a lot more cores. But for lesser core based tasks (gaming) Intel wins because it's more efficient
They are, right now unreal 4 engine does not like AMD... Not saying AMD VS Intel BS, just right now the game engine is iffy with AMD CPUs... The game is early access it will get better over time. Another game that uses same engine is squad & people with AMD cpus have issues too vs intel.
Not 100% of the time tho... My 980Ti can get 140fps, but saying you always "achieve" it is a damn lie... I bet you are sub 100FPS 98% of the time with that 2% 140fps every few secs during gameplay...
