Players who make almost no footstep sounds, hacks or some trick?

Title says it all. Seems some players make almost no sound until they are right on top of you, unlike most players who you can hear several buildings away. Even when they are sprinting they are super quiet. Is this some kind of cheat or is there special shoes or something? Because whatever is going on its a huge advantage.

I have. Just got killed by a guy who literally ran up behind me and was totally silent. Didnt hear a thing until he shot his weapon at me, from about 5 feet away. He had to have sprinted, because it was about 50m from the nearest cover. Normally I would have heard anyone move, I could hear other players even further away. It was at the end game with less than 10 people alive. The guy was almost completely silent.

If this is some kind of cheat they need to fix it.

Bunny hopping can make you a lot quieter. It's not a tactic I feel good about, but people do it and it works.

Could have been no shoes , I do that all the time while its quieter then your shoes play the sound is diffrent .... Also ctrl walking makes 0 sound for that last little sneak.

no shoes + hold ctrl when crouching.

He wasnt walking. I was checking that direction. He closed the distance too fast to have been sneaking. I should have heard him if he was hopping. He made almost no sound when moving, and he was moving quickly..
