Why they designed PUBG around 3rd person mode, not straight to 1st person?
Don't own PUBG. But main thing always bothered me about it is the 3rd person BS. More so, WHY they made such bad desicion to design game around it IN THE FIRST PLACE? And also, what other bad decisions they have made/going to make.

3rd person is simply dumb in online PvP shooters, been for last 15 years so not exactly new thing..... any dev using it in online PvP shooter shows poor judgement, and makes me think they lack brains to create anything of good quality. Like haven't they tried old 3rd person games (like Ghost Recon 2 from 2004) and noticed it's crap?

That's what so confusing. People play PUBG and say its good, first thing I saw about it was that it uses 3rd person and instantly thought "wow, what moron designs a PvP shooter around 3rd person in 2017?"

Why use that as basis? When you could have just created instantly 1st person, and not waste resources.

Also, poor judgment this shows makes me think the success PUBG has now is lucky accident. Not because of smart developers who know what they're doing. Because if they did, they would have never even considered putting 3rd person into the game.

noone is forcing you to play 3rd person matches
Weyland の投稿を引用:
3rd person view alows you to counter house campers. While 1st person does not.

Not really. It just means said camper has to move around a second corner in a room. You peek through a doorway, and see nobody; the camper is watching you behind another wall when you enter. It's not an 'anti camping' feature, it just adds an extra step that might counter idiots standing in an open room.

Weyland の投稿を引用:
In FPP the only thing that matters in this case is a reaction time. Which gives advantage to camper because he usually has the door in his crosshairs. And if the camping is so effective, it would quickly become the ultimate survival strategy.
1. You land.
2. You loot.
3.1. If loot is decent, you camp.
3.2. If it is not, you move to the other house, pray it is empty and return to step 2.

1. You approach building. Look through windows for signs of looting/listen for footsteps.
2. Confirm there is someone camping in a building.
3(a). Ignore them but keep in mind their building, as assaulting a defended position (in TPP or FPP) doesn't end well.
3(b). Flush them out with grenades, or the playfield. The one who loses is usually the one who has to get off their ass.

Weyland の投稿を引用:
And whoever has white zone over their house for the longest time will not have to take moving risk, which will greatly raise their chance to win compared to losers who have to outrun the blue and eventually step right into someone's crosshairs.

That's the case for TPP and FPP.

Weyland の投稿を引用:
Also bushstalking would cease to exist because FPP does not allow you to kn ow how good you are hidden. And swinging your gun from side to side in order to look around will eventually blow your cover. But those ppl have to go somewhere instead of bushes, right? How bout houses?

Bushstalking would cease to exist -- as well as field proning -- because just like people can't see you, you can't see anything. You stand up and have to expose yourself to expose the enemy.

This sound like more fun that we have now? No, it does not.

Not having to deal with TPP-peeking players who literally sit in balconies/dumpsters/piles of trash/fields/etc who have the first strike due to having perfect vision with minimal/no risk? That sounds a ton more fun to me.

Weyland の投稿を引用:
All those CoD, CS and Battlefield FPS never introduce looting equipment for a good reason.

Boy, where to start with this. In CoD, CS and Battlefield; you spawn with your equipment. It's not meant to cater towards a survival element. It's PvP. You just kill eachother. There's no loot mechanics because it's not designed towards RNG Loot deciding victories.

dont buy the game. it will save all of us the time scrolling past your salty posts about game design and how it they messed it up.

you should design your own game. you can call it "TRYHARDS ULTIMATE PVP GAME". make sure you include "My opionion on games is the only one that matters and there is no other way to play a game" in the FAQ, unless its ARMA3 because that has 3pp.
Press "v".

And we will have 90% of the players housecamping while other 10% do some risky ♥♥♥♥ like airdrop hunting, forestcamping at the edge of white zone. But refardless of that as long as there is at least 1 house in the white circle campers would have better chance of winning.

I've just won a game, mostly by being a bushstalker one with the nature. But there was a point somewhere during top 10 where I had to move to the next bush, but as I moved forward, I found none of them. Then someone saw me moving and tried to shoot me. I just laid down and the landscape cowered me from him. But at the same time I saw his position thx to TPP and was ready when he tried to move in on me.
In FPP that would be the death of me right there. Because whoever has the first shot will end up having visual on his target. If you are forced into cover by some random shots you will not have a slightest idea where to look. But the dude on the balcony will be ready when you try to peek out. Doesn't sound like more fun.

OK, maybe FPP version of PUBG could make a good game as well. But I personally do not belive in it.
Why are these arguments still a thing? they have all game types in both 3rd and 1st person so you can play whichever you prefer. both offer a different experience and both have pros and cons.
Play what you like and stop arguing that your preference is in any way better than someone else's
because some people prefer third person, i personally hate FPS games, makes me dizzy.
can you believe they are going to keep the cross hairs in 1st person servers?

cross hairs are for babies, and the cross hairs should ONLY be in 3rd person servers where the rest of the infants play
Glad there is FPP now i hope i never have to go back to 3pp it sucks.

Your reply is very childish so maybe you should play 3th person then with all the other infants:steammocking:

And 3rd person perspective games has not been milked to the bones?
Not many games has done a well made fpp battle royale mode on a massive map.

because 1st person doesnt work well on big maps, to many people complain about it, ever wonder why the maps are tiny on all 1st person games? lol

*cough* battlefield *cough*

It represents situational awareness - first person is very confined, unrealistically so, considering our senses.

+1 ... Trying to pinpoint where you are getting shot at from in first person is .............. first person leads to alot alot of camping.
