helmet, depending on a level reduces damage to player while taking it on it's own HP. Percent of damage saved is dependant on a helmet level.
Headshot damage is I think 250% of normal damage, meaning that AWM's 100 becomes 250dmg.
While your character has 100hp, and I think that highest damage reduction from helmet is 50% (lvl3) it is not enough to drop that damage below 100 meaning you get knocked out.
I forgot exact numbers but it is something like that, +-10%.
As for OP, if you weren't mistaken and it was actually an AKM rather than an AWM, that would be lag/desync. You got hit 3 times, but on your screen all three bullets hit at once so it seemed like you got killed in one shot. To the best of my knowledge not even cheats can make weapons deal more damage than normal
