FPP will dominate.
Sure it's still in Beta, yes indeed the camera position needs tweaking and of course we need duo's and squads adding, but when all of that is accomplished FPP will take over as the dominant playmode and here's why.

This game has all the ingredients required to become a top tier e-sport, there surely can be no doubt that massive audiences will be one day watching competitive tournaments of PUBG between professional teams with large prize funds, it's definitely going to happen, but e-sports need competitve credibility, they need to challenge the very best players and force those at the top to play the game at it's most brutal and unforgiving, and only FPP can do that.

3PP is fun but it's too easy, it's too arcadey and it's too exploitey to be taken seriously, I mean who can seriously envisage some future Twitch stream commentator uttering phrases like '...and here is the reigning champion, he's switched to the AK as he lays prone up against the wall, skillfully exploiting third person to get the drop on his last remaining opponent...'? lol.

Of course if the game only had 3PP that would be different, there would be nothing to compare it to, but now the FPP genie has been let out of the bottle who can take 3PP gameplay seriously?

There will always be a place for 3PP, noobs, kids who like to view their characters bottom and those who are just not very tactically minded will always enjoy the easy more forgiving game mode, like there will always be people of all ages in the shallow end of a swimming pool with inflatable armbands on, trying not to get splashed in the face, but surely the rest will shun it, knowing full well that any chicken dinner won with a corner peeking wall hack just ain't worth the eating.

i play this game for fun, the game was made for 3 person and its fun, 1 person is janky as all hell, but hey if you prefer 1 person play that and dont bother us with "blah blah this is better because i think so"

The game was *not* made solely for 3rd person. 1st person was officially planned for EA along with 3rd person.

I feel like people are afraid to engage each other in first person compared to third even in popular areas. I've litterally gotten 5 kills from people corner camping in school. Third person people seem to fight more often.

My experience is 100% opposite. Unless you mean something different by "corner camping" ... which is what people in 3PP do when you can look around corners without risk of getting shot.

1st perspective benefits CQC in a more fun way, especially indoors. If you're not good at clearing a room, or doing a bit of misdirection because of LoS ... then yeah, it might suck for you.

This is exactly what I mean it's like people are afraid to come out of houses. It isn't fun when half the server just goes inside a house and hides in a corner with a shotty.

Honestly i enjoy both modes, but like someone above said i actually find FPP much easier than 3rd person since there is much less to focus on and it's easier to know does the enemies see you, so i would not call 3rd person ''casual'', they are both good modes.

its far from becoming an Esport, RNG needs to be lowered before they can even consider it, the blue circle moving too fast making it able to outrun you is a problem and RNG of guns in houses leaves some people to lose because they didnt have a means of defense, there is reason people watch CSGO halo and even cod and its because there is constant action, who wants to watch people hide the entire game? the best thing to happen will be the devs have people find only the firefights to keep it entertaining at all
They can make tournament maps that are smaller^^
if they do then maybe it can be something, still RNG outweighs skill so it needs to be fixed a bit

clearly it shows it was also made to 1 person..it was after the game being released, but all the pressure from youtubers and such rushed this process i love arma played dayz for years but im not playing 1 person in this game for sure , fix everything optimize what you can and after a good "base" is established then you would develop 1 person

Only issue is that RNG exists and it might not be fair to everyone.
Fair for everyone? lol, if you can't adapt to the situation you don't deserve a chance to win. That's why the whole rng discussion is pointless. I sometimes have a bad stating point, I try to make it work 9/10 of these games a survive pretty long.
thats not how esport or any sport works, its about being on equal grounds and skill being the difference between people. you cannot tell me that someone who camped the entire game and only won because he came out at the end is gonna look better than a guy who got 10 kills and died 20th, there is a reason csgo and cod and halo all work well and its because of individual skill being tested, not luck and RNG

Ah you see, we all have equal grounds, we all have the same rule sets. The guy who got 10 kills and died, had exacly the same options as the guy who camped. The number of kills is irrelevant as this isn't deathmatch, it's last man standing. For same reason it's irrelevant if you have 60 kills in king of the hill gamemode when your objective timer is 0. That's no skill, that's being idiot.

Skill isn't defined by what you think, it's defined by how well person adapts to the rules and conditions he's been given.

And "skill" in halo is fancy for "I got power weapon first"

e-sports are nice for different games..but this game is a SURVIVAL game, all techs or strategies are valid to try to be the last one surviving.. i dont know how they will balance this game around that without taking the fun from it and since its a survival game ofc its not gonna be fair.
Its fair when all drop from the plane unnarmed and thats about it

As said elsewhere, fu fair, think professional poker, you have to play with the hand you're dealt, skill, experience, tactics and sheer cunning will ultimately be required to win.

You don't hear poker players saying - 'So unfair! we need to start with the same cards!'

The difference here is games have a winner after on round where it takes many hands to win in poker. If this game was done to something like best of 10 rounds or something then maybe it would be fair. But to say that 1 person moves on and 99 people get eliminated after one game is dumb. Especially because of bad loot spawn or getting circle ♥♥♥♥♥♥ near the end.

i really like the FPP, one thing i thin they should add though is a 'lean upward' just enough to get eyes over half covers.. be the same as leaning left/right, just without the ability to shot
