drinks replenish boost ( can do some actions longer, check lungs icon).
painkillers replenish life over time ( i found out pretty late ). i saw it is used also after the blue line crossed over you, so it can buy you some time.

Both Pain Killers and Energy Drinks add boost (orange bar), orange bar slowly depletes converting into HP. Pain Killers add more boost than Energy drinks.

you might take both of it at least 3 stack / piece into your backpack for last 5 circle round.

As above, they are both boost items with painkillers giving more boost. Anything up to 2/3rds (rough guess) of the bar will replenish health over time and any boost over 2/3rds (again rough guess) will also slightly increase movement speed in addition to regen health.

Drinks and pain killers add to your boost meeter. It is split into 4 bars. The first bar slowly replenishes health over time. The second bar replenishes health over time faster. The third bar increases run speed and works as the second bar. And the fourth bar increases run speed even more and works as the second bar. Hope this isn't confusing and helps.
