Buying Headphones for PUBG, Need advice!?!?!
Hello,
So a few reasons why id like to get a headset.
1. i imagine duo and team is a requirement or atleast alot more fun!
2. Probably most important is the all important in game sound i.e. shots , footsteps, vehicles etc...

Like previous posters , i have no idea where im being shot from sometimes, no hit box and no idea where sound of bullet came from.

ive heard that headphones are great in this regard.

People are saying get stereo or get 7.1 surround sound. I have no idea what to look for.

Has anyone any advice on this, im sure im not the only one!
Also,
could you recommend some headphones please. Preferably wireless/bluetooth (no cord)

Thanks

Hi , All , O P here.
Thanks for all the advice and comments, i had no idea of where to start looking so the info is great.
Also, it seems i may have unwittingly opened up a can of worms on the whole usb/cable and surround sound/stereo topic LOL.
So, again im clearly nowhere near as knowledgeable on this debate as you guys. ill probably look over the headsets mentioned and figure out a good price range or deal.

Thanks again,
see you and hopefully hear you in game ;)

virtual 7.1 one is the way to go. I think razer have free software for any stereo headphones. I'd personnelly reccomend Coarsair Void Headphones,

Virtual 7.1 headphones ussually work better and when compared to plain stereo the difference is phenomenel. stereo sound so bad when compared to it.

For example if a sound is to you left with stereo its really lound in your left ear. if its 7.1 its spread across both ears and its louder in left ear. this sounds alot better and it allow you to tell what direction a sound is comeing from. e.g. diagonals as well. The software is the best solutions

Bought the Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum a few months back and really loving it. First wireless head set in years. Had a wired Astro A60 for a few years.

G430 works like a charm, disable the 7.1 surround in software. Works with everything :)

7.1 is a gimmick there is not true 7.1 headset as they only have 2 drivers it's just virtual.

I have been using stereo headphones for years and have no problem locating where a sound is coming from.

Your ears are very clever you only have two of them but can still work out the location of a sound this is because your ears don't hear in a single sound but multiple copy each copy has different phase. The shape of ours ears allows us to determine the direction.

Usb vs jack is just bull if you have a good soundcard go Jack if not go usb.

What are peoples problem with virtual 7.1, have you never tried a decent one and your just being petty. or do you have a legitamite reason for hating it?

When Comparing the two Stereo sounds ♥♥♥♥ in comparison, especially when it comes to sound space, for music it is fine but when it is in a game there is nothing like it.

The best example I have of this is when driving in my summer car with the 7.1 or off. when its off the music is lound in your right ear and non-existant in your left,. then when you turn it on its heard in both ears but you clearly know that the sound is originating from your right. It does this by simulating how you hear sound in real life.

If you still dont understand how sound works turn on some music from a speaker. turn away from it and cover the ear pointing away from the speaker. you will hear the music in your right/ left ear. then cover the other ear and wierly yopu can still hear the music. but its slightly quieter.

I don't even understand why people are discussing UBS (I.e. wireless) to be superior to a jack. A jack is built for this very purpose and will always be superior to USB. As for wireless, any even mildly serious game will never go for wireless. Not only it's suboptimal but you of course need to go with batteries which will inevitably die on you in the worst of time.

If you never played a competitive game only to report a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who play with USB and whom batteries died at the worst of time, costing you a game of some sort, then you are not a real gamer IMHO.

A good pair of wireless sound the exact same, they also ussuallt give a warning when they are at 15% power. The freedom they grant more than makes up for having to charge them after hr's of solid gaming. having no cables are something you dont consider until you use a wireless headset and then its near impossbile to go back.

The only time a jack is better is when using a 200+ audiophile headphones.

i have used wireless, they prove nothing valubale in my opinion, that isnt including the conflicts they cause.

cord + 3.5mm jack is the way to go :).

I have never experienced conflicts when it comes to my own wireless headset. But I cannot hope to understand the issues you may have experienced. but your opimions are your own
