Wait is this real or is reddit being retarded again?
https://gyazo.com/f0bd8468318276c72c1a6ae61a5de4ed

That chat history makes it appear that the makers of this game banned someone over killing someone who killed a streamer. Is this legit where killing other players in a game designed for you to kill other streamers will get you banned from the game?

Again, that's a discord server.. it's a custom match, and the admins on those can set any rules they want. This isn't a PUBG policy.
So for those, simply don't play on a custom server.

Think about it, how can these "admins" in that group know out of the 5 million players who was streaming and who was playing in a match etc... they can't... but on a custom server, they can.

Are you sure? Pretty sure rule #12 says you aren't allowed to stream snipe.

Apparently I was not sure! :)

Well, damn.. I stand corrected. And that is really random as how can they prove it one way or the other. I still stand by my origianl statement that if you want to stream to the world that's on you, but, you are correct so apologies on my confidence on this one...

I would argue the opposite...

Do not stream if you do not want to be stream sniped. Streaming is a way to give up your lcoation, just like foot steps...

As anyone knows, I abhor and detest cheaters. But I don't think this is cheating. If a streamer is publicly giving away his location to his audience (some who may be playing the game on the same server as well) in a game whose primary strategy revolves around camping and not being detected by other gamers, then the stream got what he deserved.

If the streamer were smart, he'd add a 30 second delay to his stream (or something to that effect) to minimize the impact.

Too bad, what you think is right (and actually is right) isn't right for the guys who own the game.

Either don't kill any streamers or get banned, easy as that. Good luck guessing who's streaming and who isn't.

If the developers want to kill off their bug-ridden game, who am I to impede their progress.

Question: can you provide a source for this statement on how they handle such bans?

Where is the source for "only for killing the same player over and over and over".
A streamer needs to provide evidence the same player has been encountering them multiple times in hour. Footage itself is more than enough to determ whatever player in question is actually stream sniping. Do note that simply posting clips alone won't prove anything, you need to link the original stream too that has the period of a player stream sniping.

I'm waiting for a reply from their support on how exactly these bans happen, if they have any "countermeasures" against false stream snipe claims or not, but so far (from how a person who commented here), if you do well in multiple matches in a row, and you get in a game with a guy who's streaming, and you kill him multiple times, you are going to get banned.

Doesn't matter if you get 10-20 matches each of those matches, and that streamer is just 1 kill out of those 20 kills.

I asked for the source on how they handle these bans, not for your opinion on them. I already understood your opinion from the other replies.

If me and you encounter each other 10-20 times within few hours, under questionable circumstances: as example you always arrive to me, knowing where I am. It's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clear you are streaming sniping.

What I posted is not my opinion but what mods have declared way before. I attempted to check robodanjals history but he was not the one who posted it. It's also likely the thread has been deleted.

This one is a sticky one and they should solve it by simply saying, if you stream you risk being killed ny a stream sniper.

Point in question, I was watching one of the top streamers a few days ago, and he literally read from the comments.. "ah there is a sniper on the mountain" turned around and started firing on him.

Is that "fair"... no... he has an advantage of having thousands of people watching him stream. It goes both ways.

You can ghost watch a streamer anytime and go right for him, none of that is bannable. You can ghost twitchers all day long and nothing will happen, they are giving there position away by streaming, that's not a players fault lol.
Huggy-Bear 2017 年 7 月 28 日 上午 7:51
Alot of streamers use the software for streaming to cheat any way. Next time you watch a stream and the streamer uses his sights watch were his eyes wonder. One minute looking straight at his screen as soon as he looks down his scope/sights his eyes look at a different portion of the screen. Maybe there's a zoomed in portion of the screen somewere.................................

That streamer shot an unsilenced gun in an open area and wants to cry because he died? Theres also no proof other then word of mouth.

That's nail in the coffin for me as to wether I'd buy this game or not. Not going to spend 30 bucks for some random person to accuse me of 'stream sniping' and get a ban

Also if you dont want to be 'stream sniped' THEN DONT STREAM
