Do bare feet make your footsteps quieter?
I can't hear some people coming up and other times I hear them coming from a mile away. Do some people not play with boots or shoes for this reason?

Also a lot of people will slow walk when they know someone is nearby. Can drastically change approach.

Intersting video. Seems they went pretty far in developing the idea of a Battle Royale simulation by implementing so many different sounds for footsteps according what gear you are wearing. Do sounds of leather boots also differ to sneakers? Sneakers should be the best shoes for that scenario then, I guess.

However I think its wrong themewise and simulationwise. To me it looks kinda silly to watch heavy armored and armed people running with bare feet and simulationwise the people would hurt themselves pretty much by running on all the stones, wood and plants on the ground and you even could get sick, respectively would get yourself exhausted much quicker by cold feet.

So either they should change the game to cover more special circumstances like coldness/health, damage by running with bare feet, more different clothing sounds and advantages (Jeans sound different than a long leather jacket for example, while the leather jacket should secure you a bit more than a simple T-Shirt) or they should just focus for gamebalance and remove the audio advantage of running with bare feet. ... Or at least they could make the sound differences less obvious.

Whatever they are planning there, I would favor any scenario where people do not feel it would be the best idea to take their shoes off instead of wearing a comfortable pair. Unless players would be kinda trolling just for fun and would be naked anyway.
But please, I don't wanna watch seriously playing players with silly bare feet anymore.

My regulars and I are always bare-footed. It is certainly quieter. I'm glad footwear makes a difference in the game, but I wouldn't be adverse to - say - footwear (or lack of) impacting running speed. (Slowest being bare-footed, then heavy boots... fastest being rollerskates. We need rollerskates!)

Well, I guess rollerskates should pretty much break your neck in this game unless you are rolling on the street. Intersting idea this way, btw. :B1:

The fastness by better shoes makes sense, but also simulationwise humans can run pretty much the same speed with bare feet I think, however they would hurt themselves to run like that on natural ground (did you watch one of the latest Fear The Walking Dead episodes? They have to walk home without shoes through the wild and arrive heavy bleeding and exhausted, l this is pretty much what I was thinking of to be kinda real.), unless they are native people who are doing nothing else since they are born. Buit the girls and guys in PUBG rather look like people from the modern civilisation to me. Heh.
