Leaving EA by October?
You're having a laugh right?

http://www.pcgamer.com/playerunknowns-battlegrounds-guaranteed-to-leave-early-access-by-october/

"We will finish this game in 6 months" This depends on their definition of "Finish" Now the standards today suggests that it's still going to be a broken buggy mess of a game by the time they claim it's "finished" I don't know enough about BlueHole to believe this game will function at least correctly by that time. I hope it does,

Thoughts?

First: Changing your initial post is bad sportsmanship since now half the thread doesn't make sense.

Second: I believe they can make it. Even if it's not completely finished by Ocotober, I'm okay with it. Considering how much they achieved in the last 3 months, I'm positive they can and will achieve it (or even more) in the next three months.

I removed that part because people were focusing on it too much rather than focusing on the main point, My little opinion was not intended to be focused on. And personally I don't care about that, Again it wasnt the point. You people made it the point, So i removed it so we can focus on the point. Which we have done now.

The point being, Is October too early to leave EA.

It better not be done by October! This game is good, but it needs more time..

Exactly how I feel.

Only because of how off it was as an estimation. In reality you could remove all the art and sound in the game, literally all of it, and the remaining code that runs the actual game would be close to 20% of the game. and you used it to try and further your point so it was all goofed to begin with.

Games dont have to be "done" before EA ends. I think what your worried about is that they will abandon the game when they call it "done" and release it for full price. But remember just 10 years ago when games would come out "done" and still update them all the time? like say tf2? or payday2 (albiet mostly through dlc)? The point being just because a game is considered done doesnt mean it wont be updated, tweaked, or added too. Although i do think with the confirmed microtransactions and the ever closing release date there is a good chance the company will say "good enough" and call it finished while its still super buggy and unoptomized. and that could lead to more problems down the line like the game being abandoned by the devs while its still not working at the levels it should be.

This has already been brought up (and ignored) by the OP. It must not be relevant to the discussion.

DLC my good man.

You didn't get the point but it's ok.

I did get the point, but if they announce any more maps you can bet it's after release as DLC, got to keep that money rolling. It was more a jest that you didn't get but that's ok too.

Don't worry they are leaving EA quickly because they want to start adding Microtransactions, they said that they will add micro when leaving EA so there you have your answer, they leave EA quickly because they want more money not because the game will be finish or anything .

http://battlegrounds.gamepedia.com/Frequently_Asked_Questions_(FAQ)
Clothing tag first question:
Oh great, micro transactions. Cant wait to see how badly they ♥♥♥♥ that up. Literally the only way they could keep it working is if they adopted a simple buy more boxes ability. But there are so many ways they could ruin this, im not looking forward to it. Too bad they arent more open about the microtransactions they will have in the future. I didn't see anything about it on the steam page before i bought the game or in any of the reviews i watched on youtube. :( yay trustworthy dev tactics...

How can you even ruin cosmetic micro transactions? Clothing can't be op, since you can't get desert/snow/grass/urban camo at the same time....

Not sure what you mean. I think you're focusing on the wrong thing here, The maps being added in my opinion are entirely irrelevent to the games development progress....They dont count. A new map isn't progress. Not sure why you went down from my very rough guestimate of 20%. I only say it's 20% complete because of how.....broken the game currently is. 20 is just my opinion, You shouldnt focus on it.

That has NOTHING to do with your stupid metrics. You can't slap a random number along with % and call it a day. The game is pretty much done in terms of gameplay and mechanics. They will no doubt polish the animations, drops, features like valuting and servers, along with performance. But the groundwork is done. You can play the game as it is.

The game is going to be released this year, especially if you count the amount of updates and planned things.

20% complete? wow...little steep there? I agree with ya that it has a ways to go...but you wouldn't even be playing it (nor would 4 million others) if it was only 20% complete. I'll take it as you were joking.

Well one out of three maps makes it 33.3% complete, then all the extra animation and fine tuning they want to add ect, 20% might not be too far off as it stands now.

One map doesn't account for 33.33% of a game, are you serious? xD

Out of the 3 maps they have said are coming 1 = 33.3% recurring, that's what I mean, then factor in other things, so it's less, just as I stated.

Sorry, but thats just nonsense. We have one map thats fully working. To stick with your weird calculation, that'd mean 100%. "then all the extra animation and fine tuning they want to add ect" would lead to ca. 80%. Again. Mindblown. You can also figure out that you were talking garbage by - again - pretending they announced 99 instead of two maps. With your calculation that would mean mapwise were at 1% minus all the things they have to do (polish, finetuning, etc) mean the game is at about what... 0.01 %? :D

Read the news next time.. I believe they will get out of early access.

The meteoric rise of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been staggering. Alongside a host of pre-release updates, the MMO battle royale recently hit four million sales in just three months—a feat all the more impressive given its Early Access status. Yet, despite the numbers, there remains a large chunk of prospective players who won't pick up Bluehole's runaway hit till it's launched in full.

Which is fair enough. The question is, then: when can we expect PUBG's final release?

According to its Steam Early Access blurb, Brendan Greene—aka PlayerUnknown himself—suggests he and his team "don't expect Early Access to last longer than six months." In an interview with RPS at Rezzed earlier this year, one week following the game's EA launch, Greene was however far more forthright.

"Game development is hard. What makes it hard is, we work with Unreal, which is a joy because they have a company that is focused on making an engine," he says. "So there’s 40 people just working on code for the engine. You look at Daybreak and Bohemia, they’re working on their own engines, and that’s just infinitely harder. I think the ForgeLight engine is a ten year old engine. Now, they’ve improved it considerably since then, but it’s the same with the Arma engine, it’s 15 years old. Now DayZ are making a new engine, and that’s just something which takes time.

"It’s something a lot of people don’t understand and they get a lot of hate because of that. I just try to correct them whenever I can. It’s like, listen, guys, they will get finished. Companies are not going to abandon games like that, you know? People say, ‘oh, DayZ will never be finished,’ and of course it will. People tell us we’re not going to be out of early access in six months; challenge accepted. I can guarantee you, six or seven months and we’re out of early access. It’s the team. It’s a matter of honour, you know? We will finish this game in six months."

Which would see PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds launched in full before the end of October, assuming all goes to plan.

In the meantime, this here might be the deadliest attack I've seen yet:
